Never have used that snowflake term, either. Wrong, fellas.

Your problem just leaps off the screen: not enough beer.

One of my favourite films. Tony Curtis' performance is superb.

Not hating on their December announcements, and it was a good year overall, but I really hope we get "California Split" in 2019.

Oh God. Yes, please! What a boxed set that would make.

I don’t understand why Top Hat, especially, has never found its way onto blu.

Ginger Rogers is one of the most talented women to ever grace the Silver Screen, and she is woefully underrepresented on blu-ray.

"Dry White Season" was definitely the best one (I did not see "A World Apart", which Ebert mentions in his review and seems to fit the trend too), and has a lot of interesting things to say about how the white people of South Africa were able to willfully ignore the evils going on all around them...

I don't know if I'd recommend a blind buy; it depends on how you collect. I think it's a very good film to see once, but I'm not sure I'd watch it again any time soon. A lot of posters here seem extra-sensitive to liberalism in movies, so be aware, this was definitely a "big important topic" in the late '80's, and there's a reason this movie stars Donald Sutherland and Susan Sarandon (and Brando, for that matter).
The Power of One is the Avildsen movie.

I did a little jig when I saw more Barbara Stanwyck being added to the Collection.

Now if Criterion would just upgrade The Lady Eve, and grab Stella Dallas and Ball of Fire.

I ventured over to Amazon earlier today and pulled the pre-order trigger on...

Sisters
The Naked Prey
The Princess Bride

...since the $25.99 current price is right for them.

Criterion's releasing standalone versions of his more popular films.

Figured, since they already have several out. So the disc in the set will be identical to the new standalone?

One thing Criterion usually does very well are the short description write ups on their movies. However, there is one they did for December that's lazy and specious at best. It's something a lesser label would stoop to doing. I'm not going to call it out by name (mainly because I'm not going to get into a debate because it's divisive) but you can probably guess.

2018 was an exceptionally strong year. I'm going to pivot the data and have something visual to share soon.

Right. The man widely recognized as the greatest actor in motion picture history received a "lot" of undeserved Oscar nominations.

I'll let you get back to your Adam Sandler movie.

Other than Sayonara and Dry White Season (both of which I haven't seen) and maybe Viva Zapata!, I can't think of any undeserved Brando nomination.
