Who has the master rights for it though? It's a Polygram movie and Miramax distributed it here. I know Lionsgate has put it out a couple times however.

Station Agent has a Blu? I just bought it digitally (granted, for a buck and change). Or do you mean a DVD re-release?

you’re right. I should have specified. They re-releases it on DVD as a barebones disc and got rid of the extras and didn’t do a Blu-ray which is disappointing

As far as I know Channel 4 Films owns Trainspotting at least in UK/Worldwide. They also did Naked, Paris Texas, Shallow Grace etc so that’s why i was wondering

Mirimax was the original distributor For the US and I guess that’s through Lionsgate now. They didn’t do the original dvd but LG did the bluray
Not sure if that’s forever or how that works

I hope it’s a directors set! Give me all of them at once!

I’d be game for either a Wes Anderson or Terrence Malick set (Badlands-Tree of Life).

It's bad enough that every Anderson film is automatically and unblinkingly adopted for a Criterion release despite perfectly-fine and affordable discs existing...repackaging all of them into a boxset would be insult to injury (and this is coming from an Anderson fan.)

You know what the best part is regarding delayed announcements?

In only 2 weeks we have the November announcements!

Well, I finally bought some Criterions from the B & N sale. I decided to splurge and bought the Bergman 39 film set. I didn't want to since I had about 18 of his films but that still made 21 that I didn't have and it really was a bargain at $3 per film. I also bought War and Peace, Swing Time and The Heiress.

My pick for a new directors box set would be Ernst Lubitsch with all of his existing silent and sound films.

I'm hoping he was there for Tetsuo.

I think it will be great if CC starts the 4K UHD train. The problem is that they will want to reissue many of their best spine numbers in 4K and my wallet can't take that kind of pressure....

Has anyone returned their Criterions due to a damaged booklet/leaflet, even if lightly damaged?
