Fair enough. I really wish lionsgate didn’t own the Miramax catalog and hope they lose it eventually. They do put out lot of stuff but don’t seem to care much about picture quality and I’m still pissed about the station agent barebones release when the dvd has some great bonus stuff

you’re right. I should have specified. They re-releases it on DVD as a barebones disc and got rid of the extras and didn’t do a Blu-ray which is disappointing

Mirimax was the original distributor For the US and I guess that’s through Lionsgate now. They didn’t do the original dvd but LG did the bluray Not sure if that’s forever or how that works |

It's bad enough that every Anderson film is automatically and unblinkingly adopted for a Criterion release despite perfectly-fine and affordable discs existing...repackaging all of them into a boxset would be insult to injury (and this is coming from an Anderson fan.)

Well, I finally bought some Criterions from the B & N sale. I decided to splurge and bought the Bergman 39 film set. I didn't want to since I had about 18 of his films but that still made 21 that I didn't have and it really was a bargain at $3 per film. I also bought War and Peace, Swing Time and The Heiress.
My pick for a new directors box set would be Ernst Lubitsch with all of his existing silent and sound films. Last edited by kvnbhovis; 08-01-2019 at 07:54 PM. |

Has anyone returned their Criterions due to a damaged booklet/leaflet, even if lightly damaged?
