All of the Bergman sets are first printings.

A perfect example of why I don’t throw a fit when Criterion releases something that’s already out there. If I thought their not releasing it would directly equate to them releasing something else I want, I might grumble. But I don’t suffer from that fantasy, and the reality is that there is a customer base for their edition of a classic film like All About Eve. Since I don’t buy every single thing that they release, odds are that it works out the same.

That's the only way it would be marked as such, but obviously there's more than one print run over the course of a release's life. Failing to get in on the first printing can mean, as with the Bergman set, having to wait quite a while for more to be printed.

Excluding the unannounced release dates titles and going one by one through the titles on the box sets and hoping I didn’t make a mistake since I’m typing from my phone.

1920s: 9
1930s: 14
1940s: 14

Little heavy towards 50s-70s because of Bergman, Zatoichi, and Godzilla plus many Kurosawa films.

Is there a fast or efficient way to find these statistics? I went on Criterion.com and on here and searched my collection but couldn't figure out a way to separate by studio and decades.

1990's: 41
2000's: 25
2010's: 12

These are all blu-ray SKU releases I counted (box sets included)

I guess the 80s are my decade.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:

My updated Criterion list (with DVDs included):

1920's: 5
1930's: 13
1940's: 10
1950's: 29
1960's: 50
1970's: 39
1980's: 52
1990's: 45
2000's: 25
2010's: 12

It appears I only have Criterion DVDs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s.

If you have the data in a sheet then the easiest way is to create a pivot table in Excel.

A quick analysis of all blu-ray releases:

If anyone is interested I can share the .xlsx. It contains a live link to Criterion's site. Once new spines are added all you have to do is refresh the query.

In your collection, there’s a “search collection” feature that allows you to search by studio, production year, etc.
