I'd like to see another Bergman stand alone release this month. Preferably Hour of the Wolf.

That'd be great, but I'm pulling for The Passion of Anna myself, which would be a long-desired blind-buy.

Looks like whoever runs their FB account re-shared, presumably accidentally, a post from Elizabeth Warren's FB page. No comment or endorsement or anything like that.

My copy of All About Eve arrived slightly crushed from BN.

Part of me wonders if I should bother ordering a replacement copy or just wait for the replacement case.

Any owners of The Circus? If so, could you please post a pic of the booklet?

I don’t know how to fold mine back LOL. It looks weird each way I try.

My copy of The Leopardlooked to have been stomped on and was in pretty rough shape when it arrived. Case was split 1/3 of the way down the spine and disc 1 was floating around inside the case. Thankfully no scratches.
I think I'll just order another case.

A mixed bag of old and new releases from the last B&N sale:

I’m slowly chipping away at my list of To Buy titles from previous years while trying to keep pace with the current years releases. I doubt I’ll ever be completely caught up but progress is being made.

That would make more aesthetic sense, but this is how my middle looks:

I don’t have a Twitter or anything but I’d love to be able to ask the good people at Criterion why it took over eight years for the restoration of The Story Of Temple Drake, which premiered at the TCM Classic Film Festival in 2011, to reach shelves. Back then it couldn’t have been Disney tying things up, and a phantom page for the director appeared on the website as early as 2012.

Speaking of The Story of Temple Drake, both it and the obviously non-Criterion Ready or Not were supposed to arrive today from Amazon. Now, I guess it's Monday.

I'm not sure what's happening w/ Amazon lately, but I don't like it. Oh well. It's not like I don't have a gazillion things to watch as it is. And there's no way I would have gotten to those tonight. But this weekend? Sure. But like I said ... piles and piles of un-watched, anyway.

They charged me for my Cyber Monday order three days ago and haven't even bothered to start shipping it yet.

This is why I don't like these foldout pamphlets, That, and they tear easily. What's so bad about a simple booklet with pages stapled together? Is it really that much more expensive to produce?

I definitely prefer booklet style as well. Foldouts just plain suck.

It's definitely cheaper to make them than booklets, the latter usually having better paper quality, etc.. I'm not completely against pamphlets, I think they work well for some release, like the ones that appear as Newspapers (Ace in the Hole, His Girl Friday, etc..), and some that are also posters (e.g. A Touch of Zen). Genrally speaking though, I definitely prefer booklets. At least with Criterion you can be assured that it'll always contain the pamphlet or booklet, unlike with Arrow, Eureka, and others where they eventually remove them.

Here's what I mean by the newspaper for His Girl Friday. I think this is cool in my opinion
