The Irishman and Moonstruck (Jewison's greatest film, imo) shall be mine.

Moonstruck is literally in my all-time top three. I can't believe it.

I will pick them all up except for Moonstruck which is not my up of tea. Girlfriends is unexpected...I never thought that Criterion would be putting that out. It is a Warner title so it's surprising that is one they picked from Warner's vast catalog. Not sure if that is because Warner is only allowing Criterion a very limited amount of titles or Criterion really loving the film.

It's not a great film (IMO), so this really feels like something Criterion took to get other movies it really wanted.

With that said, Eli Wallach in such a different kind of role for him is probably noteworthy historically.

I'll gladly do so if it will bring my spirits up during the depressing pandemic.

I'm only bothered by it when I have to put that damn mask on. Other than that, I've come to ignore it.
Watch the film, it will make you laugh. The best films always take us away for a couple of hours or so.

If you preorder through the Criterion Collection, do they charge your credit card immediately or do they wait until the shipment date?

I'm incredibly looking forward to Ghost Dog: TWotS on CC. I've never seen this film, but I started it back in the rental era and never finished it. I've always had a love for anything samurai, incl. American rip-offs. And I forgot RZA did the score, so I'm in!

I believe it is at shipping (was in 2017, when I placed my one and only pre-order to date).

As I still haven't watched The Irishman on Netflix I need to get a move on before November, although I'll likely pick it up anyway. Ghost Dog sounds interesting, but I'm blind-buying fewer titles these days so I'll see if I can watch it some other way.

Great! That's going to be my cup of tea for tonight! Really need to cheer myself up with some happy films (Which I haven't seen for 2 months)

GIRLFRIENDS does not seem to be a “we need to release it to get other films we want” release, and it’s experienced a sort of resurgence this last few years with some rep screenings and returned interest. I actually figured this was more of an inevitability.

I'm betting the delay was because of the "Moonstruck" artwork, but whatever, they are up, now.

I'm likely getting all of these, like I do a lot of Novembers. That is their biggest month of the year, usually.

The only one I'm unfamiliar with is "Girlfriends", and it looks interesting.

All the rest, I KNOW I want them.

Put me down for the The Irishman and Girlfriends. While Moonstruck is one of my favorite films, I'm not sure it's worth a double-dip for me. The MGM release is pretty good.

I am most definitely double-dipping on Moonstruck, I think I have it on VHS DVD and BD already. I will be watching all extras.
I wonder if they will have that documentary about Italian American families with all those absurd fake Italian names they made up when they arrived at Ellis Island.

Fellini, Elephant Man, Parasite, The Irishman & Ghost Dog! Criterion closing out the year strong. I just got Comfort of Strangers today. (arguably my fav. Schrader film)

Yeah, this is a pretty strong month for Criterion. As always I wish there was something Japanese, but with Irishman and Ghost Dog in the same month, I can't complain that much.
