How good are they with things expiring? I don't understand why streaming services don't send you an alert when something on your list is expiring. Some do give an expiration date the entire time a thing is available, others you have to click on it every week or so to make sure it's not going to expire at the end of said week...so how easy is it to keep track of that? It’s always one of the options under Explore, usually near the bottom so you’ll have to scroll down a bit. Many of us who post about the Channel regularly tend to prioritize those titles each month. They’re better than most services at providing that heads-up.

i figure this is the most active and relevant thread to ask. for the king hu films, how do the criterion releases compare to the eureka releases? touch of zen and dragon inn

Both releases have very similar picture since they use the same restoration. You can see for yourself below:

In terms of extras, the Criterion releases are slightly more extensive in my opinion:

The advantage of the Eureka releases is that it is dual format, if that matters to you.

yup.
the criterion dragon inn and touch of zen are both discounted for $20 over at amazon. total with tax wouldve been about $43-44

but i just ordered dragon inn, touch of zen, legend of the mountain and raining in the mountain all for £41.96, which is about $56 (or an average of $14 each film). just awesome. eureka rules

Just saw the Red Shoes on Christmas for the first time. Kinda regret not having to see this earlier, but this movie instantly hits first place in my priority to-buy list for the next 50% off sale now! My grandma, while watching this, accidentally spoiled me the ending of the film before I got to it. But I'm more upset about the fact that I missed a screening of this a few days ago because the theater sold out all the tickets (And they were free dammit!).

Cut the blu-ray in half, snapped a picture, and emailed it to Criterion.
