Probably a dumb question but I haven't had one before so I'll ask anyway: with the $50 credit Criterion gives you after spending however much on their site, does that all have to be spent at once? Or can I buy just like one movie with it for $20 or whatever in the upcoming sale then wait to use the rest on the next one?

Basically just trying to figure out if I need to decide on multiple movies I want soon or if I can grab the one I know I want and wait to think about more later lol

Come and See 16,207 (Released during July sale)
Dressed to Kill 6,051
Notorious 14,098
Twin Peaks: FWWM 17,814
The War of the Worlds 9,652 (16,163 week 2 during BN sale. Sold 52,000+ units as of March 2021)

Blue is the Warmest Color is the most surprising. Remember when a 2nd release with bonus features was said to be forthcoming?
Blue is the Warmest isn't as surprising when you consider it has a lower MSRP, and was released on February 25th, 2014, the day Criterion had their flash sale. So people were able to buy it for $12.47 on day one. And some were buying it even at higher pre-order prices (still sub $20) from what I noticed.

You too can track those sales figures. Example: Dressed To Kill BD. I believe some include combined DVD & BD sales when released on the same day.

I've been looking for UHD numbers on Kane and Mulholland Dr but it looks like neither made the top 20 so there's no sales figures available.

The price was definitely one factor; also that it was released just a few months after its US theatrical run, amid scads of media attention due to its graphic sexuality and the controversies over production conditions. I felt like it was one of the most discussed films of 2013.

I would have bought for those reasons as well, but held off anticipating that 2nd release and to this day still have never watched the film. Should I remedy that?

Is it safe to buy Citizen Kane now? I don’t want to deal with exchanging the faulty disc.

I came here for the flash sale news, but all I got were these lousy friends.

You should be fine. There's a new UPC code attached to the corrected release.

It can be partially used like a standard Gift Card and the remainder will be there later. OTOH, with the $50 FS I never can come up with a good reason to order less than that. Even with the GC it would fell like I'm throwing away all my earned discounts.

I lurk often on this thread and I must say you all entertain me often.

Good movies, good releases, good friends, and good chuckles.

Hoping for a sale in March but my wallet can wait until the Summer.

I was tickled by the one post that has two examples of sales in March followed by “I guess there’s always a first time”. Or a third time. . .

I just got the updated disk from Amazon.

Wandering around the interweb waiting for the sale to start...

Yeah I'd definitely wait for another 50% off sale before using the rest. It's just a matter of me trying to not blind buy so many things anymore, and a majority of the Criterions on my list to check out I haven't had time to watch yet lolol

I passed on the last flash sale because B&N ships here and Criterion doesn't. Passed on the B&N sale because they changed their shipping policies and if I have to use a reshipper I might as well get the points. If this sale ends up not happening I will be seriously ticked off.

Anyone watch Jeopardy last night? There was a Daily Double in the category "Esteemed Men of Italy" that was as follows:

"This Director is seen here with Marcello Mastroianni who often played an onscreen version of the filmmaker"

She guessed Coppola

It wasn't even the worst thing that happened in the Game Show universe yesterday. I noticed Wheel of Fortune trending on Twitter, and wondered why. This was pretty painful to watch. It will also possibly make you angry. It's already being dubbed the worst 2 minutes in WoF history

Got a channel charter subscriber coupon code today that mentions “an upcoming flash sale”, so seems things be in the works.
