They can't even get their Arrow sale link to work, it just sends you to the generic "offers" page.

First of all, Videodrome is an underrated masterpiece and you should definitely see it.

Second, when you get Godzilla, do yourself a favor and watch the 1954 version of the film. I don't know how the Blu is exactly laid out, but it has both the original 1954 Japanese version (originally called Gojira) and the awful 1956 Americanized version (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters). The 1954 Japanese version is a masterpiece, but the 1956 American version is just unwatchable. It's not even Showgirls bad or Plan 9 bad, it's just painful.

And Rosemary's Baby is OOP so if you see it get it. Most if not all of the Paramount titles that Criterion had are OOP now, including RB, Harold And Maude, and Nashville.

Cheer up, at least you can beat the traffic. I'm planning on being there when the doors open, so it's at least a 7 AM wake-up call for me. Beats having some scalper clean them out. If I had to hear them say "Oh I'm so sorry, we're all out of After Hours, someone just came and bought all 40 copies", I think my head would explode.

Yes, the B&N "Music & Movies" popup has a "50% Off Arrow Video" link that doesn't work. Doesn't matter if it did since I don't see any sale prices enabled on the individual disc pages.

I assume so, though none of my local B&Ns appear to have Arrow titles.

Trying to get the World of Wong Kar Wai boxset but it doesn't seem to be listed on the B&N website. Anyone seen it at any B&N stores?

Remember when Amazon was the go-to place for books and graphic novels because they were always seriously discounted (and well-packed, I'm going back now....).

Once they killed off independent bookstores and most of the chains, they jacked up their prices (and started just throwing books in boxes to speed up packing).

Amazon never initiates sales, they only react to others' sales. Let's give B&N some well-earned love so they can stay in business.

Dear Mr Criterion:

I Know Where I'm Going, my wife's favorite Powell and Pressburger, is still only available on DVD. I'd really appreciate a 4K UHD of this wonderful film, thanks.

I love that they didn't bother with a light meter when filming the outdoor scenes, the light kept changing so frequently.

Signed,
Someone who is about to spend way too much on Criterion.....

The new restoration was circulating last year and the main page for it says it's coming to the Criterion Channel soon, so I would expect STRONGLY to see it on UHD in the not too distant future.

The bad news is it's not on the B&N website on my end either.

The good news is it's still in print, per the Criterion website:

Depending on where you are, my stores are Deptford NJ mainly, with Cherry Hill, Marlton, Moorestown, and Hamilton Township occasionally picking up the slack. (For anyone here's benefit, the Glassboro store near Rowan rarely if ever stocks any movies let alone Criterions.) I'll keep my eyes open. Worst case scenario, call some stores closer to you and see if they have one that they can either transfer or ship to your house.

Per the guy at the Deptford NJ Store...

1. They still have a full Criterion section, mostly Blu-rays and 4Ks.
2. DVD selection is iffy, because they aren't selling very well.
3. "A lot of the older DVDs that have been here a while, we were asked to send back by the distributor. Not Criterion, the distributor. Some of them have been here for a couple years, and they decided to just clean the shelves. Not necessarily out of print stuff, but just the ones that have been here for a while and weren't really selling. We still have some in the back though."
4. While this is probably redundant, the sale started today, it includes all DVDs, all Blu-rays, all 4Ks, all new releases, and all box box sets/stuff behind the counter.

I love the Zatoichi box set. When I got mine it came with both the Blu-Rays and the DVDs.

Anyone in LA get to The Grove Barnes & Noble? Went to browse, but the section was full! Wondering if it was anyone else from here!

Any reason I shouldn't order a digipack from Barnes & Noble? I figure having it shipped from anywhere runs some risk of damage.
