Mrs. Miniver
An Affair to Remember
Random Harvest
The Little Foxes
Flesh and the Devil
West Side Story
Top Hat

Sign me up for these. I hope that whichever classic they release, it’s not something readily available on Blu-ray already.

A podcast I regularly listen to, random number generator horror podcast, covered Valerie and her week of wonders this week for all that are interested. They run through the whole movie and give a great insight and reaction to the film.

"It's giving Lana-Del-Rey-coquette-Tumblr-girl realness"

There are unfortunately a lot of Fox titles that are out of print on blu ray (Sunrise, An Affair to Remember, etc.). GEE I WONDER WHY!?!

Mrs. Miniver and Sabrina are also OOP, but I'm sure the ladder will get picked up again by Paramount Presents soon, considering this is Audrey Hepburn we are talking about. But still, you never know!

The first release of Sabrina from WB is OOP, but the Paramount release is still in-print (along with it being included in the Audrey Hepburn Collection):

That said, it's shown up in 4k digitally, so it probably will get a 4K UHD release eventually.

There are also a lot of Fox titles that have never had blu-ray releases or even DVDs. I'd rather see Criterion focus on those. If necessary, let Mill Creek reissue the OOP discs (which I would definitely welcome as there are a few I wouldn't mind picking up).

I'm thinking we finally get Heroic Trio this time. Maybe. As always, hoping for something Japanese that doesn't have a Blu-ray like maybe an upgrade to that samurai boxset with Samurai Rebellion.

Gosh I do hope Le Samourai 4K does happen early. I would expect a theatrical re-release first though, considering the film's popularity. The 4K UHD is supposed to come out later this month in France but someone over on the 4K forum for the film found a review that comes with screenshots (Which have been uploaded to caps-a-holic). The color grading looks excellent but looks a tad bit soft compared to the Criterion. However, I still have high hopes that the 4K UHD will look sharper than the Criterion release. Thinking this will be out around June/July 2024 (?)

And thinking of Alain Delon, a 4K UHD of The Leopard would be amazing. I was very surprised when I learned that the Criterion Blu-ray was released a year after an Italian 4K restoration Blu-ray came out. That film demands a 4K restoration Blu-ray/UHD to be made available on the US markets!

Hoping for:

Jean Eustache film or box set!
Werckmeister Harmonies (would also love an early years Béla Tarr set)
Ossessione, Le notti bianche, or The Stranger (Someone give me more Visconti!)
A City of Sadness
Raise the Red Lantern (i should probably import the Zhang Yimou set from Australia)

I still maintain that Criterion is sitting on these titles for whatever reasons :

The Defiant Ones
West Side Story 4k
Catch 22
Carnal Knowledge
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

And an obvious title that Warner Archives HASN'T released, which makes me wonder if Criterion actually has it and that's Splendor in the Grass

Plus we're getting pretty close to two years since Criterion announced a movie from the Fox catalog. Seems like they've run out of titles from the last deal made pre-Disney buyout and it doesn't seem to be Disney's current policy to license them out to anybody but Mill Creek.

If I can get Barry Lyndon and Eyes Wide Shut on 4K from Criterion, I won’t ask again and just let them do their thing.

Going to guess La Dolce Vita in 4K and a re-release on BD.

Other guesses:

The Cassandra Cat BD
Chungking Express 4K
Grave of the Fireflies 4K, BD (wild guess)
Naked Lunch 4K
The Shop on Main Street BD
