Doubtful. Much of the rest of the year Criterion has them direct for 30% off. And Amazon will have them around 30-47% off (as will other retailers like DeepDiscount, though usually the lower end of the discount) depending on the title, how long it's been since release.

Doesn't B&N charge full list the rest of the year? I doubt there's many that know enough to search out Criterions that also ever pay MSRP.

I've never seen a Criterion release at 100% MSRP.

I’ve seen ripped open Criterions in Barnes & Noble. Amazingly one sat on the shelf like that through numerous trips during one sale. 100% off or five finger discount

I have. I had a friend order Naked Lunch from Amazon way back when and he gave it to me.

Just wrapped up watching Withnail and I on Max. Immediately placed an order for it, love the Ralph Steadman art. Added Night Moves as a blind buy, never once been disappointed by a Gene Hackman performance.

Already grabbed Sorcerer, Anora and Godzilla vs Biollante. I want to upgrade Brazil and Barry Lyndon but already own the Criterion blu rays, which are of very good quality. Fun sale so far!

Gosh Dang all this talk of Night Moves, and Brazil is making me want to buy more Criterion titles, and is something I might do. I have seen Brazil before, and really want to pick it up, but I think I might hold off on that one for now as I already have these titles I still plan to buy from Barnes and Noble.

Withnail and I
How to Get Ahead In Advertising
One False Move
The Long Good Friday

I took off Devil in a Blue Dress as Powerhouse put that title out in the UK for way cheaper so I'll probably just buy the UK release instead.

Any other title suggestions? I'm mostly sticking to Japanese, British, African American, and Italian titles for this sale. No Hitchcock though as I have my eye on the Imprint, and Studio Canal sets this year.

Also I forgot to mention that none of these titles need to be suggested as all three of these titles are getting delivered tomorrow.
Round Midnight
Ghost Dog the Way of the Samurai
To Sleep With Anger

I'm honestly trying to stick with titles that I would enjoy I don't mind Spike Lee titles, and controversial films, but there's some titles I just won't touch.

Those titles being
Most John Waters films
Salo
As well as, a number of other films Criterion has put out either recently, or in the past that I refuse to even watch, or have in my collection.

Full price for many a pre-order of the titles I want to support Day 1.

It's probably the one I'm most looking forward to. Don't think it has a UK release either, so now's the time, I reckon.

I know I wouldn't. There are 4 50% sales every year. It's pretty easy to wait. I have a few titles I want during this sale (Midnight, Carnal Knowledge, Night Moves, The Big Heat...). Then in October when the Criterion Flash sale hits, I'll pick up Flow and This is Spinal Tap. Even if I don't buy anything during the Criterion Flash Sale, the November Barnes and Noble sale is just around the corner.

I'd order directly from Criterion, Jeff Bezos is more than rich enough.
Unfortunately Criterion doesn't ship to Europe, Amazon.com on the other hand does.

Any hints what we might be getting in October? Criterion tends to give us a couple of horror themed releases in October, so will be curious if anything horror related will happen.

Would LOVE to see Goke, Body Snatcher From Hell get a release, but that would be BD only as I don't think it has a 4K restoration. Same with Jigoku, unless I missed the info along the way.

Y'all are hilarious with the Bezos bashing. He does still own ten percent of the stock, but he stepped down as CEO nearly four years ago. And this site kinda depends on partner revenue from those click thru links at the top of the page.

Given the number of September releases, I'm guessing that October is going to be pretty lite again (like last October)
Mati Diop's Atlantics
Altered States UHD
Eyes without a Face UHD
and my looooong shot guess, Black Lizard

Elephant Man and Straight Story are too "normal" to give you a good sense of Lynch. Eraserhead and Inland Empire are too out there to make good starting points. Dune is just bad. I'm not sure where I'd put Wild at Heart on the scale, but I don't think it's as good a film as Mulholland, Velvet, or Highway.
Excellent summary. I'd say start with Mulholland Drive or Blue Velvet. Lost Highway is still pretty out there on my scale.

Also, Dune may be a train wreck and not a good example of Lynch's genius, but I still love it

I think there's a good chance October will have several Hitchcock releases. The Pleasure Garden/Easy Virtue on Blu, maybe a 4K box of the four Selznick productions and maybe even a 4K of Lifeboat.

Also likely to get Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors and I Know Where I'm Going! before the end of the year.

Do Criterion releases normally come wrapped in cellophane? I'm trying to remember. Because my Brazil 4K arrived shrinkwrapped and with a heat-warped cover from Amazon. Every time that happens, I get suspicious that I'm getting someone's return. It did have the silver 4K sticker stuck on, though.

All the ones I saw in one store were like that, it's still "normal" fwiw. (sadly) I only went to one store but probably all like that for now.

Mine from Amazon looks like a return as well but there wasn’t a 4K sticker on it which emphasized the return vibe.
