For the first time ever, a Criterion Blu-ray is actually cheaper at Barnes & Noble than at Amazon. Heaven's Gate on Blu is $25 before shipping/taxes versus $35 at Amazon. And this is WITHOUT a sale! I usually stay far away from B&N because of their high prices so this is a pleasant surprise.

$25 is the sale price. It will be $50 when the sale is over

That title is part of the 50% off B&N sale.

Question for anyone that ordered online. I pre-ordered Rashomon, Weekend and the Trilogy of Life the 1st day of the sale. I knew that they would not ship till the last pre-orders were released, which was yesterday. Unfortunately, Rashomon was the only title that shipped and not the other 2 that were released yesterday. Anyone else run into the 2 releases not shipping yesterday? Frankly, I have been ordering from these B&N Criterion sales for years now and this has never happened. I assume they are available in-store, but anyone else get a ship delay on the 2 from yesterday??

Sorry to be OT, but I originally posted this in the sale forum. I should have known better...

I ordered those same three a couple of days into the sale, they havn't shipped any of them yet and they still have the 13th as the expected shipping date on my order status....

Nope, we gotta get through the darn post-retirement "Monsieur Verdoux" first. (Which likely means we get "Limelight" next, yeesh.)

So, it's one of the few all-but-confirmed cartoons we do have, nobody's putting it up for the announcement horserace? Or just trying not to think about it?

At least it is consistent, as mine says the 13th ship date also. I wonder why they have not shipped out the 2 new releases from Tuesday. Has anyone seen them in-store? By the way, thanks for the responses, as I should have known I was wasting my time in the actual 'sale' thread....

I just want The Blob already. Badlands would be great too.

Whoa, I completely lost track of the date. I read the first few posts when I got up a little while ago and thought 'oh yeah, that's gotta be coming up pretty soon, doesn't it'.

I'm waiting on Week End as well. Rashomon shipped (on the 13th, and not the 6th), and both Vivre Sa vie and Eating Raoul shipped on the 1st, but Week End is still pending. Odd, as my preorders have always shipped the release date. It was puzzling as to why half the order was shipped early too. I wonder if Brazil and Purple Rain will be delayed as well. I also hope I don't get screwy duplicates like last year as well due to when and how stuff was shipped

I avoid the sale thread as much as possible as it gets to be dangerous to say anything there.

My experiences exactly BG. I was curious as to whether anyone has even seen Weekend or the Trilogy at the actual store? I checked through the sale thread, as they like to post 'the haul' there, but none to be seen... Wonder if it is a delay on Criterions' end.

I was at my local Barnes & Noble and they got in a few copies each of Trilogy of Life and Weekend on DVD and Blu. Website stock has always taken longer than store stock I notice it every single sale. If you can get it at your local Barnes I always ALWAYS buy it in store. I have never ordered from their site, and I have a membership. (although I understand if you live to far from a location of out of the U.S.)
