There isn't a non-linear timeline to it, though ..or maybe I'm reading that wrong.

I've only watched it once (and absolutely loved it) but I think it does jump around a bit. Or maybe I'm just easily confused.

And yes, 'both' is of course a distinct possibility.

If it doesn't say "Second Printing" then you need a replacement disc.

I think he's curious where on the disc to find it.

On my White replacement it's on the outside edge of the disc art at the tail end of the copyright info. In Lilliputian font.

Can't find it....I was certain they mentioned buying it directly from them means the later printing.

When I get home I can check. It's definitely somewhere on the disc label.

Also, please refrain from quoting the Return of the Jedi Blu version of Vader. I'm out of Tums.

It may become non-linear on the set of "Synedoche," where they spend fifteen (?) years in production. At times, it's fairly obvious at which point in time a scene takes place (Hoffman is made-up to look older, for example).

If it's linear, then the "key" I read about must have been something they used on set for continuity purposes, likely because scenes were shot out-of-order.

Is it completely irrational of me to have a bit of a negative reaction to it since a couple people I don't like love the film?

Isn't it actually Revenge of the Sith?

Sansho is on hold, Stuart has a friend. Hopefully only one.

I loved Paris, Texas after my first viewing a long time back, but it did not really sink in until I saw it again later on. Nowadays, it gets even better with each subsequent viewing, and it's one of my favorite Criterions.

I saw Wings of Desire at Barnes and Noble for 30% off (40% members) last week, but did not purchase it. I stood there for a while debating, though, because I love that film as well.

It's an easy movie to dislike. I recall reviews being pretty divided and Kaufman's had no luck getting backing for his next directorial project (I think he took it to Kickstarter, but I stopped following the story). I don't think he's in movie jail, exactly... Just Visiting.

When I first watched it I didn't like it, then I did like it, then I didn't and did again. Keep in mind, that was just the first viewing. Ultimately, I enjoyed it and it has improved on re-watch.

Goes to show that I'm not as hardcore about Star Wars as everyone else. I don't remember it.

I want to love it, but i need to kill Brain first. Stuart really should have been called Pinky, as he was stupid enough to get caught, Brain has escaped the damn traps.

maybe you should accept the fact that you have a new roommate. Just cuddle up and watch Green Mile or Ratatoullie together.

I absolutely loved it (based also on one viewing only). Often when films are difficult to decipher there's something of a manipulative feel to the supposed depth and complexity. Almost like they're trying a little too hard and being a little too cute.

I never got that impression here. I never felt they were doing anything just for the sake of being clever. I didn't understand much of it but I never felt cheated or toyed with.

So far Charlie Kaufman scripts (Being John Malkovich, S, NY and Adaptation in that viewing order) have impressed the hell out of me. I'm almost a little reluctant to watch Eternal Sunshine for fear of breaking the streak.

When did I ever say that the timeline was a substitute for re-watching the film?

Oops.

Yeah, as you stated, it would say "Second Printing" at the end of the disc's banner (with the time, year, etc.)

Different roommate. The last one was killed. and if I were to watch a film, I'd watch the American Tail ones.
