Yeah, but I think the key word is "plague." There is an implication there that those issues exist but don't plague the video.

I'm sure someone who owns it can confirm either way.

Can some of you guys recommend a good film noir movie? I don't really have any experience with them so which one(s) should I start out with?

Me too, even though other than Lord of the Flies I'll probably be sitting this one out due to overspending on my other hobby (movie paper).

Would The Double Life of Veronique be recommended to someone who loved Three Colors: White and Red? I finished the trilogy today and really, really enjoyed myself.

That would be an incredible month in my opinion. I've been really looking forward to seeing Frances Ha. Mulholland Dr. might be my all time favorite movie. And I'm a huge Cronenberg fan.

That would be awesome.

I've really been hoping for Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive, but a Mulholland Drive Criterion is an "I'll believe it when I see it" thing for me.

My US friend (a fellow member here) has picked up the following for me:

On the Waterfront
Ministry Of Fear
Cul-De-Sac

Might look to add another 2-3 before the 3 week sale is over (funds permitting) but can anybody recommend some films to me based on what I already own??

I'm big on Noir films but think I have most of them already.

Without a doubt. I much prefer TDLOV to 3Cs, but all are fantastic!

If you don't mind it not being part of the Criterion collection, Double Indemnity is one of the greatest!

Yes, that is also a great choice.

Probably my favourite Criterion film so far.

Raw Deal by Anthony Mann
Scarlet Street by Fritz Lang
Shadow of a Doubt by Alfred Hitchcock

For Criterions, I find the following to be amazing:

Sweet Smell of Success
The Third Man (sadly OOP and very hard to find now)
12 Angry Men
Diabolique
Following
The Killing
Kiss Me Deadly
The Lady Vanishes
M
Night of the Hunter

Titles I've bolded are ones I rate the highest. I know some of these may not be 100% noir but they all have noir elements.

I hope that one is announced some day soon as well. One of my top 5 Kurosawas for sure.

So is Shoah like totally depressing? Or is it a learning experience? I like war movies, I just don't know if I can handle 9 hours of that subject.
