Yes, I'd love a "Jigoku" upgrade.

I really want "Empire of Passion" upgraded, too. And where the heck are Oshima's early films, like "Cruel Story of Youth"?

And I'd like more Masahiro Shinoda in the Collection. I just recently saw an import DVD of "Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees", plus I imported the Eureka DVD of the original "Silence" adaptation.

I'm still shocked they didn't release Silence around the time Scorsese's version came out. I've also been hoping for Under the Blossoming Cherry Tress ever since I found out Criterion had it, 12 years ago!

I remember seeing "Cherry Trees" and "Silence" streaming on Criterion wayyy back when Criterion were still on HULU. Yes, around 11-12 years ago.

I, too, expected a Criterion physical release of "Silence" when the Scorsese one came out, in 2016.

The next best thing would be if, one day, Criterion could release a Two-movie-package, with BOTH versions of "Silence".

Unfortunately they have tons of titles, particularly classic Japanese films, that they're likely to never put on disc. But at least they're available for streaming.
Perhaps we could get a box set The Secret Agent, Sabotage, and Young and Innocent, though that's obviously just wishful thinking. With Stage Fright finally coming to BD, it'd be nice to just finish out the rest of his filmography because there really isn't that much more to go.

Sometimes I wish Criterion would just start to lump stuff like this together and get them out there. The way they did with Eclipse but with blu-ray releases.

I sorta suspect the heavy contemporary releases last year might have been related to pandemic stuff (fewer variables in getting them out there while also maintaining their regular 4-5 releases per months, sure), but I wouldn't say no to more releases per months if it meant a mix of a) newer stuff, which seems to be working for them, b) their regularly scheduled releases, c) stuff they've been sitting on for awhile now, d) maybe the occasional older upgrade.

I hope they announce After Hours so I never have to hear people talking about it again.

I want these:

Amadeus
Happiness
John Woo
Kubrick
Coens
One False Move
The Last Seduction

And for God's sake, no more 21st century movies. If you have to, go with the 2000s because those movies need restorations. I don't need a post-2010 movie that already looks amazing on Netflix. We've got 20th century masterpieces that look like garbage that need to be cleaned up

Me, too! I'd LOVE to be able to stop asking for it...

I'd love all the remaining gaps in my Scorsese collection to be filled in.

"Who's That Knocking at My Door?"
"Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore"
"After Hours"
"Bringing Out the Dead"

And I'd love some more US Region A releases for Pasolini. I have all of his films on blu, now, except for "Mamma Roma" (which has no BD). But most of them are Region B. Let's get them out here, too.

A new restoration of The Last Seduction would be amazing for sure, but considering what Scorpioin Releasing said back in September 2018 before they put out their release of the film (which is still available, by the way) I won't hold my breath for it.

The reason it took me almost 3 years to release this title is because I spent all that time searching for elements in the United States to do a new 2K scan. However, all film elements that were in ITV's possession in the United States turned out to be nothing but a workprint and release prints that have been beaten to death. Without going into details, I wasn't able to come to terms with getting a scan done even in the UK, so I contemplated for almost a year wondering if I should even release this at all, as I did not want the backlash. But in the end, I decided that since it is still a much better presentation than the old full frame DVD that utilized a 1” tape master, plus I also did a brand new audio commentary and licensed the old extras, I figured I will release it regardless. So please realize that this version is from an older HD master, but it is still the best version you will see anywhere at this time.

Please understand that this is the final say on this title. I have spoken 100% truth about this older HD master to prospective buyers, and I have exhausted every possible avenue regarding making a new HD master on this film. It is what it is, and I will not respond to any further inquiries on this title. Thank you.
