I have the Japanese release. Was not aware of the WAC DVD. It's still the first of it's kind.

I know I had tried to see a decent edition of this for over 20 years.

So, perhaps I should say WAS or HAS BEEN rare until recently. Becoming less so, now, thank goodness.

As I said before, it's well worth seeing.

Based on those three, you should try Festen if you haven’t seen it, might surprise you.
I didn't notice the typo on my post. I will give Festen a watch when it shows up on the Criterion Channel.

It hasn't been available in the US officially since the VHS days. There's never been an official DVD or blu ray in the US, TV airings are rare, and theatrical showings even more rare. I imported a Japanese blu ray several years ago.

For years, it was very difficult to even see, much less in decent quality.

A StudioCanal BD was released a few years ago in the UK, and that may well be the first (and so far, only) truly quality release of it.

I've been hoping for years that Criterion would eventually release it.
The UK Studio Canal is one of worst releases by the label. The print looks waxy and SD at best. I hope someone re-attempts a proper restoration soon. https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=71...13&i=3&l=0&a=1

Studio Canal + Alain Delon + Charles Bronson + Terence Young + 70s Franco-Italian western. I think everything here indicates Kino Lorber.

I wish. These last few weeks on the East Coast haven't been a lot of fun

Maybe Shout will release it.

They've released Studio Canal and Warner stuff.

I started to say it would be Criterion's first Bronson movie, but then I remembered "The Great Escape".

I got an email last night about a label being created with an estimated ship date of Tuesday 1/25 so I guess the corrected Citizen Kane discs are back from replication…

In 2014 there was a sun drawn in red ink on their new year's drawing clue, which seemed like a pretty dead giveaway, but nothing has come of it yet. If it was only for A Brighter Summer Day, there's no reason it needed to be in red.

What about Replacement Disc Program for A Hard Day's Night 4K UHD Disc ?? It has 2 Mistakes shots on it. at 1:23:14 John singing different song, and 1:24:43 a 6 second shot of the video control room as The Beatles are going to the Helicopter. ! I sent Criterion an Email about this. Am I the only one who bought and cares about this 4K UHD Getting a replacement disc ?? If I don't hear anything soon from Criterion I will send the Disc Back to Amazon for a Gift Card ! The Bluray is good enough !!

Can you elaborate what you mean.. What do you mean he's singing a different song?

RIP Hardy Kruger. Starred in numerous Criterion releases. Sundays And Cybele, Barry Lyndon and soon to be released The Flight Of The Phoenix. 93 years old is a pretty good run.

Black Orpheus coming to Broadway in 2023.

Black Orpheus received a 4k restoration in 2021 and was one of the Cannes Classics. I think this is a title that may receive a UHD in 2022 or 2023 (Keep the cover art!).

Looks like there likely will be a replacement program set up for A Hard Day's Night. The issues mentioned above were confirmed by another member, and Criterion has pulled the 4K release from their site, and other retailers.

Thankfully, my Amazon delivery was delayed. It was scheduled for today but I was able to send a cancellation request.

This seems like a good opportunity to wait until the February sale to scoop up the UHD. Maybe everything will be sorted out then.
