Heimat 2 is great on filmmaking. Best I've seen. Criterion blu sets of Heimat 1, 2, and 3 would please me as much as their sets on Kieślowski' Dekalog and Three Colors and Ray's The World of Apu. Add Truffaut's Antoine Doinel seies of films and I can retire from requesting.

I'd like Criterion or Arrow Academy or maybe StudioCanal to do the 4:3 television cut of Heimat. I already have the 1.66:1 version that combines episodes to be between 90 minutes to 2 hours.

On Windows, hold Alt while typing 0189, let go of Alt. Yeah, way too complicated, and that's just for ½. What about other fractions? Something Microsoft could streamline.

I thought I laid it on thick enough... I love those movies but it really makes no difference to me when other people don't

If you use the International keyboard layout, it's Alt+7. Alt+6 is ¼, Alt+8 is ¾. " followed by a gives you ä, ' followed by a is á, ~ then a is ã, ` then a is à. Applies to all vowels and works for ç as well. Alt+s is ß, Alt+Shift+s is the always-handy §. Also includes ¿, ¡, €, £, etc etc, all super easy to type.

I don't think I have an international layout (alt 7 does nothing). When I hit right ALT 0189 it backs me out of the thread.

edit: I got it! I was actually using the numbers at the top to try. Using the number pad works. You'd think it would work with either, but now I know.

I was 12, it was the mid-00s, it was cool at the time and now I've used it in so many places and for so long that I'm stuck with it.

Hey I get it, my name is a stupid work nickname i was given years ago, but I assume that people think I love Vin Diesel...and I dont.
