Nice to see Gummo in there.
I wonder what the chances are of getting some Larry Clark's from Criterion.

HOT TAKE! Cat People is extremely overrated and I Walked With a Zombie is actually the Val Lewton masterpiece! Definitely will be getting the 4K!

Isn't it included on their release of Cat People?

I'm pretty sure Eureka's Pandora's Box is from a different, and inferior restoration compared to this new release.

I bought gummo DVD from Amazon last week. Figured it would never get another release. Thankfully still shrink-wrapped lol.

ABSOLUTELY DYING that GUMMO was announced. I can literally die happy. I could puke with happiness. Gummo changed my whole perspective on film. It is a creative masterpiece.

Exceptional news overall and as you said, great art too!
I’m so dang excited about this so much even though everything on here’s a day one purchase for me only two of these titles hugely excite me the most. The Val Lewton set, and Demon Pond this year just keeps getting better and better.

I mean we got Radiance announcing all those Asian horror titles which is freaking amazing, and now Demon Pond this year is a great year for Asian cinema.

In for Zombie/7th for sure. Will think about and probably get Pandora's Box and Gummo as blind buys. The Gummo trailer is bizarre and almost repulsive, but it draws me in as if to say I must watch more...

I have Eureka's Pandora LE. This is one of the few times I think Criterion might be superior. It has a lot more special features, a documentary on Brooks, 4 choices of scores, and possibly be a no-tint version (the Eureka has a sepia tint that I find distracting).
That being said, the Eureka has supplements and a booklet that is not on the Criterion. Not sure if I want both...Might sell the Eureka after I get the Criterion and compare.

I Walked With A Zombie (1943) , Demon Pond (1979) , and even Gummo (1997)... all on 4K UHD?!
Man, October releases always rock!

Arguably my all-time favorite exchange of dialogue in cinema right here :

Or if you personally prefer something with a little more Grindcore to it, as I do:

Never really cared for Gummo as a whole, or any of his other films for that matter, but I always thought it had the most kickass soundtrack of any film, and was instrumental in forming my music tastes as a teenager.

In for everything else though, especially PB

I didn't think much of Gummo when I saw it years ago. But I know there's an audience out there that's very happy with its announcement. I'm mildly surprised it took as long as it did to get a blu-ray release.

The others look fantastic and I'm ecstatic about the missing Val Lewton RKO horrors finally on disc, and in 4K no less.

Gummo on 4k. Never thought I'd see the day. (Totally in for the Lewtons as well.)

Absu, Bathory, Brujería, Burzum, The Electric Hellfire Club, Eyehategod, Mortician, Mystifier, Nifelheim, Sleep, Spazz...
A very solid selection of bands indeed.
Plus that one lady wearing a Krokus T-shirt too I guess.
