Well, of that's true, I'll definitely be annoyed when they announce The Lusty Men, because I just recently caved and bought the movie with my birthday money...

Great set of releases for October, but I'm almost sorry i saw the 4K print of Pandora's Box last Spring. I'm loving finally having the movie in a Region A blu format -- it's gonna be a major improvement over the DVD -- but I am slightly disappointed it's not in 4K. The restoration is so lush and beautiful.

Ah well, I'll just take my popcorn and enjoy all those extras. Along with all the other October releases. And cross my fingers the flash sale is after Oct 15.

Yes, at least based on the stills from Criterion and Janus' site, the detail and quality looks much better than what Eureka releaed.

Criterion (top) (downloaded from Janus' website) / Eureka (bottom) (from DVDBeaver's review)

Down for Gumbo and Pandora. Hopefully Criterion restores the moth, I mean coins, that are missing on Eureka's. Is Body Double Criterion's first steelbook?

Definitely getting Pandora's Box and the Lewton duo! Was expecting those to be Warner Archive, but I'm more than happy with this!

Youre right. It sure does look much better. Cant win em all as I know I will eventually have both.

Since you are on a hot streak, you think you could predict Chungking Express 4k for next month?

Eureka's release is still very nice, so don't feel too bad. I'll make sure to include Chungking with my predictions next month. Heck, with it being November (one of their biggest months for titles), it could very well happen.

I'll give Korine credit for the powerful 'Kids', but 'Gummo' is a bore, nasty nihilism and cynicism with no point of view.

I have to admit it's one positive is how it combine a documentary like raw feeling with surreal photography.

I'm anticipating an announcement of The Beast for Janus Contemporaries release for October.

By the way, isn't it usually around this time of year that we get an early box set announcement for November?
