They might be the only label that has a chance at this point in the US. Maybe they will do screenings for this October and release it next October on disc? Dunno. Realistic guess is that Criterion picked up Night of the Living Dead 1990 version.

I watched this film last year for the first time, and I was surprised. The cinematography was incredible.

Speaking of first time watches, I just finished The Red Shoes. My first Powell and Pressburger film. Such lovely colors. The ballet sequence is captivating, so dreamlike.

It appears this might have just been for Night of the Living Dead 4K coming to the UK in October.

Yeah, figured it wasn't anything to get too excited for. Was almost hoping they maybe found/included the "lost basement scene".

Since I'm pretty much done (as I have no more space), I just wanted to share a couple of pics of my Criterions. Spoiler'd for big.

Did anyone else think there are quite a bit artefact popping up on the 4K disc then maybe there should be? I am not criticizing this transfer. I don't know enough of film transfers and 4K upgrades to know what is a great transfer and what is a crap transfer. But while watching the 4K disc I noticed more snap, crackle and pops than I thought I should've noticed...

BFI is releasing Seven Samurai 4K in the UK, so guessing the Criterion might hit in November which is the month they usually save some heavy hitters. Wonder if Flowers of the Killer Moon will also be released by Criterion.

Those two along with Barry Lyndon would make a lot of sense November is going to be a big month for Criterion and it usually is.

So here's what I'm thinking more realistically is getting announced in November besides the three very obvious ones.
Barry Lyndon 4K
Seven Samurai 4K BFI just announced their 4K UHD of this title today so Criterion's will be coming too very soon a couple weeks from now
Killers of the Flower Moon 4K UHD plus Blu-Ray
Stray Dog I'm definitely seeing this getting announced in November on Blu-Ray.
I guess a couple of surprises
A Simple Plan There's absolutely no doubt Criterion has this title Arrow Video's seeming less and less likely to have this title as the year gets close to the end.
Paper Moon I definitely think Criterion has this too it wouldn't surprise me one bit, but it could also be a Cinematographe title too so who knows.
Rage in Harlem 4K UHD

Not sure where else to ask, but I bought a couple things from the Barnes and Noble sale, Fear and Loathing 4k and Targets on bluray. They both arrived today. Fear and Loathing is okay but Targets is smashed to pieces.

Their website doesn't say anything about exchanges, only returns/refunds. Will they not exchange broken stuff? The sale s over so it's not like I can reorder it.

I've never bought from Barnes and Noble.

Unfortunately, the sale was disappointing this time because Amazon did only price match one of the films on my "To Buy-List". Either IŽve been very lucky the last few years or Amazon has been slow this year.

Hopefully IŽll have better luck in November.

It looks like they're still teasing something. It would be really dumb for all this hype to be for a UK release, especially after it's already official, so I have to wonder if it's for something else. Does this shade of blue have any connection to any Romero 'Dead' movie?

So, someone by the name of Jim Cironella on the NotLD FB page said this

Quote:
"While it's cool that the 4K UHD is releasing in the UK, that's not the news being teased here"
I looked him up, and he is the producer of a Dawn of the Dead documentary titled "Memories of Monroeville: Revisiting the 'Dawn of the Dead' Mall" (2020). He was also involved wiht one of the extras for Criterion's NotLD release, has done liner notes for some music releases too, and is considered pretty knowledgeable on all things Romero from what I'm reading. I imagine Second Sight's release will likely remain tops, but it would still be pretty huge for the US market if Criterion were able to get Dawn of the Dead. Trying not to get my hopes up though.
