Nice and varied month. Only Godzilla for me. If Shape of Water didn't already have a fantastic 4K I'd have grabbed that. And already grabbed the BFI of Seven Samurai.

Very cool month. Super excited for Funny Girl.

My biggest issue is, The Shape of Water is already on 4K and there's barely any new features, so... why? If the answer is, they know this title will make money, then great! Especially if it can help fund other Criterion releases.

And while Scarface is great, and worthy of a 4K UHD release, the source is pretty compromised (and soft & hazy), I can't imagine it being much of an improvement over the existing release, or from a 1080P release.

But as far as titles are concerned, this is a huge month!

Wow! Definitely in for Godzilla, Seven Samurai, and Paper Moon 4ks. About freakin' time for Paper Moon! Haven't seen Scarface since I was a kid, but I may grab that on Blu, as I remember enjoying it well enough.

Edit: Lol, actually I just remembered Scarface (1932) is packaged with the 4k for DePalma's version. So I already have that one.

Because people will rebuy it because it has the "C" on it. Definitely not much to make it worth it, but they love Del Toro.

I'm excited about "Paper Moon." I love that movie. I'm kind of meh about "Funny Girl." Streisand is great; but I think the film is way too long. However, there are parts that I like, so I might get it. Then as someone who primarily collects Classic Hollywood film and especially love precode, I'll probably pick up "Scarface."

I'm in for Seven Samurai UHD (Direct from CC with a $50 loyalty code) and at least Paper Moon UHD, too.

Good selection of movies. Something for everyone in November.

I'm happy for Duke, too!

I bought the blu ray of Scarface last week. Really enjoyed the film, thought it looked pretty good. Now I have to fight the impulse to upgrade if I can.

They have a strong relationship with Del Toro. Nightmare Alley is also coming at some point. Eventually the already existing UHD of The Shape of Water will probably be OOP since it is Disney, and this will be the only physical media release available.

The Shape of Water being a Disney license gives me more hope for a Criterion UHD of Nightmare Alley with both the color and B&W versions in UHD. That monochrome grade is too gorgeous to be locked away as a special feature on a Hulu stream.

Paper Moon is long overdo for region A BD, let alone 4K! Thrilled for this one!

Hopefully this is a Criterion effort and not a Paramount BW job like Liberty Valance.

I know there was a post where someone said the prediction lists seem too unrealstic, but if someone said the following were all coming in the same month, it would look pretty damn unrealistic. This is arguably the greatest single month slate Criterion has ever done.

Seven Samurai 4K
Godzilla 4K
Paper Moon 4K
Funny Girl 4K
Scarface (1932) 4K
The Shape of Water 4K

This is actually a light month for me. Already have the BFI of 7 samurai on order. Will pass on shape of water since I have the Fox release. And Scarface will need to to be a good uptick with solid compression for me to bite.

Only Gojira, Funny Lady and Paper Moon for me.
