Me right now I’m not even familiar with Sammo Hung at all, and have never seen a Frederico Fellini film once was hoping that we would get some new to Blu-Ray Hitchcock, Scorsese, or heck White Dog, and Barfly. November, October, and September were way way better months for me just my opinion though.

This year Criterion seems to be upgrading many of their legacy titles to 4K re-issues. I think this will become a regular thing with more to come.

Admittedly, I was hoping for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Killers of the Flower Moon, or even Cape Fear but I'm pretty happy with this month just because of the Paris Texas and No Country upgrades.

Yeah, think I'll go ahead and pick up Gaumont's release of Melville's Quand tu liras cette lettre.

Fewer titles as expected, but all pretty great announcements.

Is there any chance 8 1/2 gets a UK release from Criterion? La Dolce Vita had both a UK Criterion and a Cult Films release so… *♂️

I bought 81/2 on Blu during the last sale, so you're welcome.

MUBI has a 4K trailer for THE FALL--is a Criterion disc on the way?

Happy for everyone who's excited, but December's slate ain't for me unfortunately

I'm sure their version of No Country is gonna be better than the standard edition I bought 10 or so years ago, and I do on occasion upgrade from normal to Criterion or regular blu to 4k, but 9 times out of 10 there are just soooo many movies I want in my collection, I'd rather spend money on something new than upgrade something I already possess. That's just me tho!

Why wouldn't MUBI release it themselves? They have the rights.

Eastern Condors is EASILY one of my favorite HK films ever. It's my favorite Sammo Hung film for sure and a better film than pretty much anything Jackie Chan ever made, (sorry Jackie) at least for myself. It's a martial arts film, but with a ton of over the top gunplay violence and a huge bodycount. This one is so much fun, and glad it's finally gettin a US release.

Thats a stacked month.

8 1/2 in 4k is tempting but i've just bought Fellini boxset few days ago.

Also still hoping we get Buster Scruggs at some point. Kinda surprised it hasn't happened yet.

December has always been a "lighter" month but with two EXQUISITE upgrades and two COMPELLING new entries, this is yet another FINE month to end a very FANTASTIC year for Criterion in 2024. Bravo, BRAVO!

I'm more shocked that they still haven't put out Atlantics considering it was in the list of their titles in the initial press release about their deal with Netflix lol

That No Country cover is really reminiscent of the style for Millets Crossing. I wonder if this is something the Coens particularly favor now.

Oh wow, that slate is much better than I thought it would be! December always seems to be a "lesser" month for Criterion, but they killed it this time

Did I miss something? Yesterday was the 15th and Criterion didn't announce anything?
Maybe I overlooked it.

In for 8 1/2, Paris, and No Country - assuming they haven’t butchered it.
