George Stevens' Penny Serenade (1941) has a new 4K restoration. I could see Criterion licensing this from Paramount, unless they're planning a release themselves, or it's been licensed to Kino already.

The last time they sent out gift codes to Channel subscribers was on a Friday, so I guess we'll know then? Personally, I think it'll probably be the 15th (Demon Pond and Pandora's Box release)

I've never looked at their flash sales before. When they do it is it everything or just selected titles? And what is their shipping charges?

I can't remember, but if you use one of their $50 gift certificates does it go against you getting to the $75 threshold?

Fairly sure no matter how you pay, if you order $75 worth of product, the free shipping kicks in.

The only thing about the 15th is that is new announcements day. I'm not sure if they will do both on the same day. It will probably be either the 8th or the 22nd.

Hopefully the 22nd because A) It's after my next payday

and B) Pandora's Box will be part of it.

In some regards, the flash and B&N sales are a bit uneven. If they had them in February (Flash), May (B&N), August (Flash), and November (B&N) there would be exactly 2 months between each sale period. As it stands, the October flash, and Nov. B&N sale are just so close, especially if it ends up being Oct. 22nd. I also feel this is better because October is often loaded with other sales like Shout's Shocktober, Kino's Fall Sale, and Arrow's Camp Arrow sale, among others.

I'm sure some people have reported that if you're only pennies short they still give you the free shipping. Not an issue for me as I use Stackry to ship to the UK so I always have about $130 worth

Are you sure? Last time I did the flash sale, I was short like 3 or 9 cents (forget what 3 4Ks were EXACTLY) short of 75, and no free shipping.

I think it looks very, very good. I'm not a videophile, but the image is clean and crisp. Has optional English and French subtitles, and a high bit rate averaging at 38.
