Yes, that's something I completely forgot to mention. The music is truly remarkable and haunting. I was even caught off guard when we hear In The Hall of the Mountain King when we are first introduced to the Yokai. One of the best scores in any Japanese films I would say to be honest.

This week seems more likely than next week. They usually like to set it on a date that have major new releases, and I think with Demon Pond and Pandora's Box upgrade tomorrow, it would be an ideal date.

For the last several years they've sent $10 discount codes to Criterion Channel charter subscribers right before each sale. I haven't received anything yet (or heard that anyone else has), so I'm guessing the sale isn't happening tomorrow. I don't think it needs to align exactly with the Demon Pond and Pandora's Box releases, as both would still be available for purchase if it happens next week.

Same here. I keep all my Criterion e-mails in a folder in my Yahoo account. The most recent Flash Sales I received the announcement the evening before the sale at around 4pm, L.A. Time. So if it were to happen tomorrow, most likely we will all get an e-mail before the end of the afternoon.

Really hope Cyrano de Bergerac is around the corner. One of my favorite French films of all time. I'm thinking that and Classe Tous Risques should be coming out in 2025.

As always, would be really happy to see more Japanese cinema. It's a safe bet we'll be getting The Burmese Harp, but I predict that will be a March or later release. Would be cool if it included the remake as well them releasing Fires on the Plain.

I'd hope we'd get all four of IKWIG, Small Back Room. 49th Parallel and A Canterbury Tale, because (now we've got a 4K of SBR from StudioCanal) I'm worried A Canterbury Tale will be hung out to dry because of some of the controversy around it. It took a long time for Eric Rohmer’s Tales of the Four Seasons to get disc releases. And they still haven't done the Jean Eustache titles.

They also had a large retrospective for Márta Mészáros, but only put out one of her films so far. I expected a box set, or at least a few more by now.
