They probably should just release more films in general. With the amount of films they have, 5 releases is not going to cut it. Hoarding too many movies.

The market is incredibly saturated, so i completely understand why they only do 5-6 releases + the occasional Janus Contemporary releases a month.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy now as to how many labels there are now. Honestly, I just want them to release those Hideo Gosha films. They do that, and I'll never have anything negative to say about Criterion again. Especially Hunter in the Dark, Bandits Vs Samurai Squadron, and Heat Wave. I'd take the others in a heartbeat as well though.

Disc releases seem imminent at some point in the future.

I'd buy both of these. We need some new French films from Criterion. I'd love these and Cyrano de Bergerac hopefully this year.

I wonder if Criterion will upgrade The Breakfast Club to 4K.
The 40th Anniversary is next year (February 15th to be exact),
it would be neato.

Quick question, do the sold out titles re-stock on Amazon before the sale ends or am I out of luck?

Wanted to grab Blue Velvet but since I'm from EU, and shipping is expensive, I wanted to wait for the actual BF sale to start to bundle it with other titles, and now it's gone.

On a side note, we know Criterion tends to sit on titles for years, but are there any instances where they’ve sat on an upgrade of a film they’ve already released on an earlier format? By this I mean have they ever done a repertory run of a new restoration of a film in their catalog only to wait years to put out the home video upgrade?

I seem to remember this being the situation with Andrei Rublev regarding the upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray, but I’m not sure.

Also, they’re taking their time with The 400 Blows on UHD, and I can only presume they don’t feel there’s a market in North America for Classe Tous Risques on UHD, but they don’t want to just release a film on Blu-ray after it’s been released on UHD in another market.

How long does an item take to get in stock at the Criterion Store? I noticed that The Player was on on back order. Never seen that at the official store before.

I would be in for that. I have yet to pick up the BD.
