Just finished rewatching Heaven's Gate the 3 hours and 39 minute cut of the film on Blu-Ray, and wow this transfer looked phenomenal I'm not even kidding. This is definitely up there now as one of my favorite Blu-Ray transfers of all time. Michael Cimino put so much work into this restoration, and it's so dang impressive. Also this is one of the most brutal, and violent western films I've seen in a while that violent war at the end jeez Louise.

This is one of the most underrated westerns I've ever seen. It really deserves more attention a lot of people really enjoy it these days with many considering it to be one of the greatest films of all time, and even one of the best American films ever made. Sadly there's still some people that find this film awful overambitious, and overlong which is ridiculous.

I rarely buy Criterion anymore but I'm looking forward to Night Moves and Choose Me, both of which should arrive tomorrow from Atomic. Especially interested in the former, as Gene Hackman's death hit pretty hard for me. It'll be a first time watch for me.

I'm standing in line for the mobile closet right now and the employees are walking around chatting with us. One of them got a phone call about Anora, and when she came back she mentioned to us that the BTS documentary on the disc was entirely shot by the cast and crew during production and it's about 70min long

Interesting. Too bad about Killers of the Flower Moon especially since it seemed like Apple was desperate to get their films more exposure and were willing to license, at least according to that news report.

Hopefully some Japanese boxsets are in the works.

Amazon of all companies sound interesting considering that Criterion has directly worked with Amazon. (not counting Criterion’s longtime partnership with MGM)

Sickkkkkkkkkk yes please that means Secret Agent, Sabotage, and Young and Innocent are definitely happening as they’re still stuck on laserdisc in the US. Along with more Japanese titles stuck on laserdisc too

Wonderful! I'll definitely be retiring my really bulky DVD set. That thing takes up a lot of space.

Just got out of the mobile closet! I picked up Querelle, Petra von Kant, and Fox and His Friends.

The girl who was running it was the producer for the Querelle release! When I said I was getting it she was like "don't say anything bad about the art" so I told her I loved it and it was the entire reason I even looked the film up haha

A lot of those titles have been upgraded to DVD by Criterion. Also Tokyo Drifter has a Blu-ray for sure. I'm thinking when they say upgrade from Laserdisc, that means titles that they haven't touched since the Laserdisc era like Dead Presidents by Criterion.
