In other news, my local film festival is going to debuting newly restored editions of The Blob and On the Waterfront; so, hopefully, that guarantees their Criterion announcement.

Also, for whatever it's worth, if you're waiting for the new Manos, Hands of Fate blu-ray, wait not much longer. The same festival will be re-premiering the newly restored print of the film.

Everyone is listing Blu-ray, no one going for Eclipse sets at all during the sale? I think I am the only one who is more interested by some of the movies in these sets than the Blu-ray

I would love to see those on the big screen.

We just had a local theater re-open as a "revival theater", operated by the screenwriter of 'Taking Lives' and the new Children of the Corn remake. They've showed The Princess Bride, Wizard of Oz, Some Like it Hot and Exit Through the Gift Shop so far. Here's hoping they can get something like On the Waterfront.

Anyone else who got the replacement discs for White and Carlos who STILL hasn't received their $25 account credit?

That's awesome!

Here's the listing to my film festival. I'm still trying to decide what to go and see:

I am very new to Criterion with only around 11 or 12 discs. Are there any must have blurays from the CC that I should pick up? (that I do not have on my list)
most of those are great but how can you pass on M and Seventh Seal

Berlin Alexanderplatz and the Gremillion set at least for me...maybe even the Czech New Wave.

I commented a page or two back that I wasn't going to be able of buying during the sale but I just can't justify walking out of the store without something so I might end up buying a film or two. Will most likely get an Eclipse and a boxset so here are my picks :

- Three Films by Hiroshi Teshigahara: I have been wanting to pick up this set for quite some time and a BD upgrade looks nowhere to be seen in the horizon.

- Eclipse Series 32: Pearls of the Czech New Wave: By far what seems to be the most exciting release of the year and so I don't mind paying MSRP for it. Hope it is worth it .

I still feel new to Criterion even though I have the following titles:

World on A Wire
Days of Heaven
The Thin Red Line
Letter Never Sent
The Darjeeling Limited
Rushmore
Bottle Rocket
The Seventh Seal
The Red Shoes

I'm thinking of getting these titles but, can anyone recommend me more titles that are essential to have?

The 400 Blows
Paris, Texas
Wings of Desire
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Paris, Texas is unforgetable. This should be numero uno on your list.
I'd recommend Night of the Hunter and the Kurosawa releases

Getting Late Ozu for sure, and maybe Mizoguchi's Fallen Women if funds permit. Ideally, all the films on the Late Ozu set would have their own separate releases, but I'll settle for the set. Wonderful films.

I've grabbed a couple of Eclipse sets in the past, but in general the blu-rays more than fill my spare time (and cash). If I had the time/money I would grab several more of the Eclipse sets in addition to the few I have. I'll probably make a point to grab at least one, especially if the store stocks the Czeck set.

A shame the public library doesn't get any of those sets. They seem to stick with single releases (and they are not always up to date anyway, but they have many of the single disc releases on DVD... not so much on blu-ray).

Tell me about it, my local library has the old Criterion DVDs for Seven Samurai and M from the late 90's.

Thanks for the advice everybody.
I definitely plan on getting Paris, Texas and The 400 Blows during the sale, just trying to think of other titles I could probably buy.
