Would have been nice if they released Memento from Nolan

Now that the Criterion Collection's December releases have been announced, I thought that a thread highlighting two Forum member's New Year's Top Ten Wish Lists, one for films not currently licensed to CC and the other for CC films needing a blu-ray upgrade, would be appropriate.

Here is my list of ten films, currently not licensed to Criterion:
Vertigo
Touch of Evil
The Sweet Hereafter
Come and See
Rear Window
Barcelona
After Hours
Aguirre: The Wrath of God
Double Indemnity
Don't Look Now

Here is my top ten Criterion Collection DVDs that need to be ugraded to Blu-Ray:
Tokyo Story
Bicycle Thieves
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Andrei Rublev
L'avventura
Ugetsu
Sansho the Bailiff
Shoot the Piano Player
Spirit of the Beehive
Le Samourai

Eh, I'll upgrade Brazil and Purple Noon has my interest due to the posts made on here, but December could have been a bit more interesting. I suppose now everyone's creaming themselves over Nolan and Fincher being released in a span of 4 months.

Don't be a jerk!

I'm a huge fan of the Anthony Minghella Ripley film and Purple Noon is #1 on the list for that month. Obviously I'd want Following but PN surpasses it.

I'm not a jerk, I'm just a dumb girl who obviously doesn't know good quality films if they bit her in the ass, seeing as I'm not a fan of Fincher or Nolan! Don't you know they are supposed to be the greatest directors ever, and only dumb girls hate them?

Join the club! Everyone thinks I'm guy, most like a gay one, since I go on about how pretty Peter Tork is all the time. I can assure you that I'm a girl, always have been, and always will be. Hence why people call me Jess (yeah, yeah it can be a unisex name, but it's short for Jessica) occasionally on this forum and make fun of me for my Monkees obsession.

Brazil, The Qatsi Trilogy, and Following?! I'm so excited!!! (I actually haven't seen all of the Qatsi Trilogy, but I'll be checking them all out and I'm glad to see a Criterion release of the films).

Fascinating. Funny too because no one can pick up on my own homosexuality...

I've seen both films and have wanted Purple Noon since seeing it the first time on its washed out DVD nine years ago. The only bummer is it's another seemingly barebones $39.99 release.

I may finally cave on Brazil as well, though not likely in December.

Good to see BohemianGraham isn't going (wait for it) ape (insert Picard facepalm here) that they aren't releasing the Monkees' 33 1/3 R.P.M.

Laughed at this: "Alain Delon was at his most impossibly beautiful when Purple Noon (Plein soleil) was released and made him an instant star". Criterion doing it again. I wonder who is writing all of these descriptions .

If anyone missed the big Keaton box announced by Kino, here is the info from their facebook page:

12/11 - THE ULTIMATE KEATON COLLECTION (15-disc Blu-ray set includes the "Ultimate Edition" releases of

BUSTER KEATON: SHORT FILMS COLLECTION: 1920-1923, THE SAPHEAD (1920), OUR HOSPITALITY (1923), SHERLOCK JR. / THREE AGES (1923 / 1924), THE NAVIGATOR (1924), SEVEN CHANCES (1925), GO WEST / BATTLING BUTLER (1925 / 1926), THE GENERAL (1926), COLLEGE (1927) (exclusive to the box set until 2013), STEAMBOAT BILL, JR. (1928), and LOST KEATON (1934-1937))

I am just glad that the exclusive is only an exclusive for a while--I would hate to re-buy most of the films just to get the one. Great set for those without any yet.

The girlfriend who introduced me to that film and I had a pact that if either of us ever had the opportunity to sleep with Alain Delon then it would be okay.
