Thanks! Didn't see it mentioned earlier. Earlier today I was deciding on that 3rd title, going with Carlos or Umberto D, but they were both unavailable by this point so I went with Truth.

Well now I own almost every Criterion BD. A couple I didn't get because they were backordered.

There are some I won't buy because I already have them on HD DVD.

Being John Malkovich
Dazed and Confused
Fear and Loathing
Traffic
The Game
La Haine

Now I don't know what to do with myself. Maybe start on Eclipse sets.

Ended up with:

Last Year at Marienbad
Close-Up
Playtime
The Battle of Algiers

Sucks, I had to cut out Vivre sa vie and The First Films of Samuel Fuller, so I hope the ones I chose rock

That seems about right. I didn't buy my first Eclipse set until after i had every Blu.

Now i have 2 Eclipses, and am thinking about making an all Eclipse flash order...

The above two certainly do rock. I was especially stunned by BoA. I'm generally not too thrilled about films that use a docu-style with non-professional actors but this film kept me riveted all the way through, and the extras package is simply staggering.

Lenningrad Cowboys...

Anyone here have opinions? I haven't seen them or heard much about them, yet there they are sitting in my shopping cart at Criterion.

My flash sale picks were:

Eating Raoul, Harold and Maude, and Lonesome.

Suprised there still isn't a Lonesome review up yet. Anyone seen it and have an opinion on it? It seems right up my alley, as I really enjoyed People on Sunday, The Jean Vigo Set, and The Phantom Carriage so I decided to blind buy it.

Welp I went ahead and ordered Do The Right Thing and Downhill Racer.

I doubt they are going to be upgraded and I wanted to see them so

I placed a third order and went ahead and threw in Mr. Lawrence to get free shipping...

After someone here mentioned buying replacement cases, which I never noticed you could do from their store before, I decided it was finally time to get the ones I needed. Shame the sale doesn't also apply to them, $5 is pretty steep, but I bit the bullet and figured I would one day thank myself. My Man Who Fell to Earth digipack came with edge damage that I have been obsessing over in the back of my head ever since.

With every new Criterion Blu announcement I maintain two wish lists, ones I definitely want and ones which for one reason or another feel like I might not like, so I won't buy them right away, to at least be somewhat reasonable with my funds... I'm up to date on the want list, so I decided to mine the other list (41 left on it) and see if any stood out to me now. So that's where the list I posted to pick from came from.

I'm taking the time in not spending cash on releases now (trying to save money and only buy certain releases that I REALLY want) to catch up on NetFlix films I've been meaning to see, but haven't.

In The Mood For Love graduated to the top of the list and I watched that last weekend...really enjoyed it. I want to try and see Secret Sunshine and Poetry this coming weekend.

Sorry guys...I see posts like this and my eyes do a 360. I still don't see why there is a need to own EVERY Criterion blu-ray. Granted...you might actually watch and enjoy each of those films...but to start watching the Eclipse films because you're bored? I'm no film scholar, but learned that there are some great films included in those Eclipse sets and much like the blus...find the directors and films that are of the most interest to you and start with those. Remember...it is unlikely that any of these films will see a blu-ray release...at least in the US.

Some of us haven't got the luxury of a disposable income to spend $$$ to "have 'em all".

Yes!
I have the following:
Silent Ozu - Three Family Comedies
Travels with Hiroshi Shimizu
Nikkatsu Noir
Oshima's Outlaw Sixties
Presenting Sacha Guitry
The Warped World of Koreyoshi Kurahara
Jean Grémillon During the Occupation

I don't regret getting any of them.
I recently raced through the Jean Grémillon films and loved them.
I'm now working my way through the Sacha Guitry films and I'm a little ashamed that I'd never heard of him before Criterion released this Eclipse box. They're outstanding films, particularly The Story of a Cheat and The Pearls of the Crown.

PM'd The Game and Rushmore for 19.97 at work today. Then ordered Traffic, Gimmie Shelter, and Dazed & Confused from the website.

All were blind buys besides Rushmore. Hope I like them

I watched Lonesome recently. Probably one of my favorite silents. I've never been a big fan of them, but this was short, sweet, and unique. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
