That's what it seems to be. At one point, near the end, Rosemary says something to Roman (the neighbor) that indicates that she has some insight into her illness, that she's been hallucinating. At every point, people need to consider whose point of view is being represented in what is seen in the movie. It has a lot of rewatch potential for that reason.

Update: Criterion's newsletter arrived via e-mail and contains, "A special delivery from Satan is just one of the many treats this October."
Maybe they're kidding, right?

Criterion posted William Friedkin's top 10. The Facebook link calls him a cinematic sorcerer. I dearly hope that's a clue to a future release. Sorcerer is my most wanted Blu-ray.

Woot!

For those who don't get the reference, it is to Monsieur Verdoux.

I'm starting to think they are saving City Lights for last.

I am still hoping for The Kid, but yeah, more Caplin is always welcome.

You are correct. It seems I am rusty on Brazil--it has been years since I saw it.

Default BN Sale - Berlin Alexanderplatz

I usually use these 50% sales to buy more expensive Criterion box sets.

I was thinking of getting Fassbinder's BA. Do you think it would be safer to wait for a BD release? I mean this came out a few years ago now maybe an upgrade is coming. - Any fans of this film? I've not seen it, but it sounds good and I like Fassbinder.

Also, on the subject of Criterion's Tati rights: Mon Uncle will still be coming out on Blu-ray from Criterion, right?

FFS - I don't know why I bother with Barnes and Nobles, after chasing up for 3 months for an order I didn't received as well as another that was damaged, I thought I would give them one more chance.
Put in an order for
Brazil
Heaven's Gate
In The Mood For Love
Following
Trilogy of Life
Rashomon
The Killing
Howards End
Paris, Texas

Most of which are preorders for November and December.
As I had moved recently I updated my default address to new address and sudmitted the order. Then noticed on the comfirmation email they had my old address still, so rather than giving you the option to just change the address, had to cancel each item one by one.
Once had email confirming they were canceled and assured my credit card was not charged, I place the same order again, but was declined. I checked my Card (It is a debit card, so I just transfer money when I need to use it) and they had charged the whole order already! (about $200). Sent them an email saying WTF is going on.
Think I'll just order from amazon in the future.

I really hope they pick up the pace with the Chaplin titles soon. 1 title per year is disappointing, to think we could be waiting until 2014/15/16 for City Lights, The Kid etc

I have had nothing but trouble with Barnes & Noble. They have cancelled orders without warning multiple times. Once I politely complained about cancelling part of my order without consulting me and their reply was to cancel the rest of the order! Must be nice to be so successful you can treat customers like that

This summer it took 6 weeks for my order to arrive.

BUT, but, but, 50% off is hard to resist ain't it?

I'm watching Rosemary's Baby right now and this does NOT look like a 1968 film. Damn GREAT transfer!

For the 50% off sale, I would like to get 3 films.

I'm planning on getting:

In the Mood for Love
and
Sunday Bloody Sunday

But, I can't decide on Rosemary's Baby or a different criterion.

There was a point where some pages/posts weren't loading for me, but this was months ago.

As part of the sale, I'm picking up Larisa Shepitko and Dusan Makavejev - Free Radical eclipses. These are completely blind buys and I have not seen anything by either directors, what sort of things should I expect?

Not seen anything in the latter set but Larisa Shepitko is a fantastic buy, especially at $15! Wings is okay, The Ascent is the real star of the set. An easy 10/10 film that I couldn't believe was relegated to Eclipse rather than the main line after watching.
