Ok, so I bought 11 Criterion titles in the current Amazon sale. Some new titles and some that I've been wanting to have for a while:

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp
On the Waterfront
Monsieur Verdoux
Badlands
Medium Cool
Lola Montes
Sweet Smell of Sucess
Sansho the Bailiff
The Wages of Fear
The Music Room
The Man Who Knew too Much.

Now I'm waiting for the B&N sale in July so I can add Wild Strawberries, The Life of Oharu, The Leopard, Lord of the Flies and The Devil's Backbone.

So me and one of my friends were reading this list of the 50 most disturbing movies, and 'Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom' was number 1 on the list. Since we realized it was Criterion and on sale, we both ordered a copy just to see what the fuss was about. She watched it. I haven't yet. What are y'all's thoughts on the film?

It is totally disgusting, but an art film. I read on Wikipedia (I know, not a reliable source), that the director was killed shortly after making this movie. I have seen it once, and that is enough for the images to be burned into my mind.
