I'll be sure to ask my mother this weekend. She should have all the paperwork and means to find out.

As for Shoah, I just had the chance to view the first part (I wanted to see it all at once on a Saturday or something, but I got pressured into splitting it up). You should definitely try to see the first part early on the morning of a free day because you may just want too see it all at once. It demands your full attention and nothing else. Even though I am only a quarter in, I see its place as one of the great documentaries already.

It has great scope and is brilliantly constructed. I am in adoration with the technique (first hand account voice over often coupled with transportative tracking shots which detail the locations off the camps). The film as of right now seems to be about constructing the terrible past we know all too well of. And the filmmakers seem to embrace that dichotomy between truth and memory. It happened, but we will never be able to feel the full extent of the torment.

Outstanding release! I hope I'll have a chance to finish it before I leave this weekend.

Two things. First, I think everyone here knows about the sale. Second, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it against forum rules to post affiliate links?

Haven't seen The Narrow Margin. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation. I think The Big Heat is a little overrated.

It's not a movie, it's a documentary consisting in main of interviews with survivors, perpetrators and other related people of concentration camps. Cousin of mine that has sat through it says it is repetitive and very depressing, and he cannot imagine ever wanting to watch it again. So people may want to consider before dropping big bucks on this. I suspect this is more important for an academic library as a teaching tool than as home entertainment. Maybe that's just me.

I thought the first part was very easy to watch. It was very fluid and even quite stunning to watch. In all seriousness, it should have been nominated for several cinematography awards too.

Considering you get a 9 1/2 hour film with three additional films and supplements, it should be worth every penny of the $40 (after $8 coupon).

I picked up "Tokyo Drifter" and "Design for Living" recently. I kinda want to get one more. It's a close decision between: "Vivre Sa Vie", "Band of Outsiders", or "12 Angry Men". I absolutely love Godard, so the first 2 are pretty high up there (for me).

All are sold choices.

Forgot to mention that I now own every current release but these:

Fat Girl
Marketa Lazarova
Tiny Furniture

Hopefully I will acquire those plus the three upcoming July releases so I can say I own them all for once.
