I don't believe Eclipse will ever upgrade to BD though I'm not 100% though

Great movie, great scene!

Quentin Tarantino was paying attention, for sure. There's a scene in Pulp Fiction where Bruce Willis's character, Butch, returns from his fight to the hotel room where Fabienne is waiting. Instead of telling her what she and the audience both already know (that he did not throw the fight and that he is on the run for his life), he climbs into bed with her converses with her for a while about her wanting a pot belly. I'm convinced that Godard's Breathless directly influenced this sequence.

Since folks were talking about October releases, I just made a mock up of a fantasy my dad and I were talking about. I'm just dreaming and playing around, so don't laugh at me, haha.

Just remembered, the first Criterion Blu I bought was in last fall's sale (starting in Oct I believe?) What a long way I've come since then!

I only picked up On the Waterfront today; it's too easy for me to splurge so buying like one a week is a good way to control myself. The $8 coupon helped a TON though, only came to $16 or so with tax.

At the Wexler talk they discussed upgrading some of the movies from the Eclipse, but didn't say which titles. Some speculation is that one of the titles would be Jungle Book, and I think Daises.

I would prefer Dawn of the Dead since its OOP.

EDIT: Now I see thats also OOP. It would be amazing if Criterion released these as a box set during Halloween.

Oh I'm sure. Tarantino was going through a huge Godard phase when he made Pulp Fiction. A few years later though he said in an interview that he had grown out of Godard. He then claimed however that he had not grown out of Melville though.

I really wish Tarantino would try his hand at a Le Samourai/Le Cercle Rouge type of film. It would be derivative, in the way that Tarantino films always are, but he pulls the homages off so well each time.

If you liked that scene, you should check out the short that is included on the release.

I feel like I should rewatch Breathless at some point because I didn't think much of it. Then again, it was my first Godard and I'm planning on watching some of his other films first (I have Vivre Sa Vie here right now from Netflix).

I still have the Weinstein Company DVD. It gets played every Halloween at least.

Can anyone suggest any good action movies, maybe some with really good car chases? For the life of me I seem to pick mostly dramas and don't know many action ones...so any titles would be great

Hmmm, so B&N is listing The Devil's Backbone as a July 23 release? I wonder if they'll have it in store that day.
