majorly, big time. it's awesome imo. it's really two films. the first one-third is a kind of homage to the cool new wavish gangster vibe developed in some of Godard's work, then the final two-thirds is simply one of the best romantic comedies I've ever seen, very compelling and memorable stuff. go for it.

I hope so.

I'm just not sure what the biggest thing we could possibly get is.

I really hope we get a strong October slate, since that will lead right into the November Sale.

Biggest possible? L'Avventura, La Notte, L'Eclisse.

Now that would definitely be a November release. Maybe they'd add Andrei Rublev.

The biggest thing they could probably release for the time being is Mulholland Drive.

4 titles that came out of nowhere for me so far.

Shoah
Wild Strawberries
Revanche
Rules of the Game
In The Mood For Love. That wasn't even on my radar ten minutes before I placed my order. And I bought Shoah for Long-Suffering Partner because it was half- price. I couldn't have justified paying $100 for the blu-ray when the UK DVD is only £25.00, it's unlikely we'll watch it more than once and I can't lend it to anybody because it's region locked.

I rarely impulse buy Criterion blu-rays. I buy the films I'm desperate to own as soon as they're released, along with one or two from my reserve list - they've usually been added to my cart and then deleted at checkout a few times.

This is the first time I've bought anything during the Barnes and Noble sale, which is novel.

Agreed on both. I enjoyed the movie up until the end, but unlike the previous poster, it was enough for me to sell the movie.
[Show spoiler]The fact that they thought it was better to have her choose nobody over one of the two was bad. Granted originally it was supposed to be William Hurt's character, but somebody on the crew screwed it up. They still should have tried to make it work.
A shame too since everything else about it was pretty good.
