Yeah.

Also for those ordering this code seems to work on the few Criterions on the sale right now. RMN15BN

That is pretty vaguely worded. I wonder if under their previous distribution deal (with Image? is that right?) the Criterion folk weren't able to directly deal with big boxes or major online retailers.

Could real, regularly scheduled Criterion sales at Amazon be in the offing?

Or maybe that does refer to deals with studios. Maybe Image played a role in negotiating with say MGM or Paramount that would be better off gone.

I can't wait to hear more about this over the next few months.

Oh, and let's all blame Sony for the combo packs from here on out. That might not be fair but it might be fair so close enough.

Thank you!

I just ordered La Notte for $18.01, including tax. The rest of my Criterion purchases can wait until the next payday on November 15.

Zatoichi is still a preorder, right? That's probably what's blocking the coupon at this point.

Just tried it on 'frances ha', and didn't work. Maybe it doesn't work on pre-orders? I'm from the UK btw.

I am thinking of getting that to compare with Eureka's, but I can get it for $40 - $20 = $20 - $4 = $16 -$1.60 = $14.40 + tax. I have a 20% coupon + 10% member discount.

edit: unless they apply the discounts in an order other than 50%, 20%, then 10%
re-edit: I see that during a 40% off sale, when I had 20% coupons, they applied the discounts in this order: 40%, 10%, 20% -- so a $39.99 movie came to $17.27

It may not have been Image lately -- Image may have merged with some other distributor (?)

i will probably wait a few more hours and try to use that coupon on one of the exclipse DVD sets i would like to order.

already received my 75$ gift card and added it to my account
in the first moment i was confused and thought its for "NOOK books, ebooks"

zatoichi box and some of the japense eclipse sets is the first thing i will go for this month probably gonna add a few more kubrick / polanski / bergman movies

I'm sure I'm the only one here, but I am buying a ton of DVDs which ensures a speedy upgrade announcement for the title. I usually just stick to blu-rays during the sale, but too many classics packed with bonus features that I need. Of course I'll still be getting 15 or so blu-rays. I plan on buying a lot and then going into hibernation for the winter and watch every second of bonus features/commentaries on all discs.

Nope, I'm also primarily going for DVDs. Some of the titles I want are still only available on DVD (and are cheaper than the bluray), and more importantly, I cannot play zone A bluray but can play region 1 DVD.

If I go multizone in the future, I can sell the DVD I want to upgrade.

Both are excellent, but I favor The 39 Steps --- it's one of my favorite movies.

I used the 15% coupon (RMN15BN) on John Cassavetes Five Films Blu-Ray

Then made two different pre-orders:

Frances Ha
City Lights

Nosferatu
Tokyo Story

Maybe I'll buy some more if Amazon matches, but if not I did enough damage.

Are they? Aren't their retail price still $39.95?
