Thanks for the heads up, I missed that one during my bi-weekly TCM scan looking for stuff to DVR!

Blah blah blah! All this talk on Wes Anderson is giving me a headache! How about Paul Thomas Anderson for a change? When is Criterion finally going to bring him into the collection? Hard Eight is a film that would be a perfect introduction to his filmography. I hope its on Criterion's radar in 2014.

Hard eight would be incredible, then we would have Wes Anderson, PT Anderson, and all we would need finally would be some Paul WS Anderson. Maybe Mortal Kombat with a short essay on the ancient feud between Scorpion and Sub Zero?

Event Horizon. Director's Cut. I'd actually really like that.

Here's a cold-hearted opinion.

King of the Hill is probably Soderbergh's worst film, and Kafka is easily his best, and I wish Criterion released Kafka instead.

That being said, a number of recent announcements I am rather excited about (I still can hardly wrap my head around IOACAS getting Criterion-ed, I am so excited), and there's a good 300-500 Criterion titles I don't current own that I'd like to, so I'm not concerned, worried or upset in the least.

That and/or Punch Drunk Love... unless having Adam Sandler in the Criterion Collection would be considered sacrilege.

Just curious, aside from Fantastic Mr. Fox, how many other 20th Century Fox films has Criterion released? I was thinking if this is the first, maybe there's still hope for a Criterion version of Shame... lord knows my gf loves that film

Placed my order with Barnes and Noble for Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman and even paid an extra $11 for expedited shipping because I am so excited for it.

Quite a few others. They've been doing business since 2004, and of course, Fox also provides the MGM titles.

Red River? Or that film from my avatar. We need some Hawks in the Collection.

Default Blood for Dracula (Spine #28)

Blood for Dracula aired on EPIX recently, so I tried to watch it. It was tough to get through at first, but then I decided to stop taking it seriously. I'm glad that I checked it out, but it isn't my cup of tea.
[Show spoiler]Also, the ending was almost too over the top for me. I think that the Count has every limb chopped off as he runs away from Mario. The Count didn't even put up a fight and I found that disappointing. Maybe I shouldn't have expected the type of vampires you find in Bram Stoker's Dracula and True Blood
I will definitely watch Flesh for Frankenstein if I get the chance though.

And then a Michael Anderson commentary on Logan's Run!

SOMEBODY has to release F3 in its original 3-D, and I frankly don't know who else would.

I heard it was A Dirty Shame. Seriously though, I would enjoy some of the early John Waters films in the collection. Would be a good candidate for an Eclipse set.

So did you pay the 50% off price of $112.00 or did you get to use coupons on a pre-order?
