Ah, I see. I rarely order in bulk, so that could be why.

I usually receive items in the yellow bubble envelopes or the small boxes surrounded by those large bubbles.

Got a package from them yesterday oddly enough, cracked case. Still holds the discs but 1 side had the 'catch' broken so it only latches on 1 side, and has a broken corner. Shipped in a padded envelope.

I'll be a dissenting voice and say that while I love the Three Colors Trilogy it is an enormous risk to blind buy if you've not been thoroughly acquainted with art films. Along with Seven Samurai, 8 1/2 is a must buy if you're looking to get into art cinema. Those are essentials in anybody's eyes.

I really like art films so I will take a look at both tomorrow. Hope I don't walk out with too many since you guys keep on adding to my list!

Bent corners are the one thing the OCD in me hates; it's too small a fault to return in good conscience, but I'm always drawn to noticing them on a digipak.

haha Indeed. The only Criterion I have with bent corners is Last Year at Marienbad. But since I got it after it was already OOP, I couldn't really say much. I was lucky just to get it for a good price.

Sorry for the late reply. After looking at your blu-ray collection, I believe that Blow Out and The Red Shoes could be the best blind buys for you. You will also save some money since Seven Samurai and The 3 Colors Trilogy have higher MSRPs. However, if you aren't too worried about the extra cost, then I don't think you can go wrong with your current reservation. I look forward to hearing about your final purchase at B&N.

Gold Rush arrived yesterday and I hope to see the 1925 version this weekend. I am not a Chaplin fan but this one film has a lot of nostalgic memories for me. It was the first silent film that I saw as a 9-year old back in 1964 when the local Defence Services Cinema in my hometown Bangalore screened it.

I'm glad I have first world problems though, they're a constant reminder that I should be more appreciative of my life at this point, not worry about small things and be glad that I have the privileged of having "first world problems". I'd much rather be irritated at a bent corner, than I would be at having to make the decision of food or medicine?

It's depressing hearing of another study snapping up the Woody Allen MGM films. Criterion needs to get in on some of those and release them as a multi-film set.
