I'd forgotten about that one. But ya, I suppose Criterion never has a realistic chance at getting that film in their collection. I think it did well in theatres and is more mainstream than his past works.

L'Age d'or from Kino is essential and definitely a controversial film. And if you enjoyed Bunuel's work, you will like the upcoming "Oshima Outlaw Sixties" Eclipse Series as the master of surrealism was a major influence to Oshima. |

Well bestbuy.com has completely taken the blu-ray for "M" off their website, so I'm assuming they're not selling it at any of their stores right now.
The order I had placed with hastings.com is delayed right now. I'm wondering if there might be some distribution issues with it for people that ordered it outside of amazon and criterion's own site. |

That prompted me to buy "Wings of Desire" when I saw it at Borders (with a 40% off coupon). "Wings" was good, but I thought that "Paris" was better. Wim Wenders said that he didn't want to copy Paris, Texas and he certainly kept his word. It's a very different film. It has a "French Film" feel to it, but with a Wenders sensability about it. Please let me know what you think about Paris, Texas and if you decide to purchase Wings of Desire. ![]() |

I'm no expert, but my understanding is there's a completely transparent glass/plastic/whatever material at the front of the helmet and then an outer reflective visor that can open and close to protect from sunlight. In this picture below, you can see the reflective visor partially down.
