I'm not going to continue in the Disney talk as the thread has now been totally derailed which wasn't the intent.
Finally got around to watching Le Cercle Rouge and it was interesting. All of the characters were pretty cool/calm throughout which was surprising. The movie felt like it was dragging in parts, possibly due to the nearly 2 1/2 hour run time but I really enjoyed the [Show spoiler] . Just once though, in an older film I'd like to see [Show spoiler] I've got an odd work schedule the next few days but I'm hoping to start Army of Shadows soon. I've somehow been on a streak of Lino Ventura films lately. I've also ordered Two Men in Manhattan and can't wait to check that out too. |

How is this discussion still happening. Art vs the artist. It was a shocking crime, and a miscarriage of justice that Polanski wasn't arrested, but watching art is in no way condoning the artist's behaviour. Besides, by that logic you'd narrow down what you can see pretty quickly - Sean Penn and Michael Fassbender both have a history of domestic abuse, and there's the story of Woody Allen we all know, and you'd find similar stories if you go all the way back to Fatty Arbuckle.
Oh and as an aside, not meaning to cast light on this discussion but more just reminded me of something I saw this week, this letter from Disney Company - http://www.policymic.com/articles/78...-woman-in-1938 |

Army of Shadows, on the other hand, is a tightly paced 2 1/2 hours. Simply amazing film, IMO. |

It's also possible to enjoy his films without bragging about how much you don't care about what he did. |

I recieved this excellent Polanski book for Christmas. Covers all his films up to Carnage, with high quality stills, behind the scenes photos, and text about the filming. Highly recommended
