So, is the cartoon in the newsletter for The Life Aquatic? I hope so, if for no other reason, we can move on to other requested titles. It seems to be a hot topic at every months announcements.

Sadly, no. As of posting, that unresolved issue remains neither tied up nor tied down.

I still have not seen a Wilder film that I did not love, and I'm starting to doubt if I ever well.
It also finally helped me get that joke from the Bugs Bunny cartoon:

Wait, what other movie could this be hinting at?

My full haul...

The Dark Corner
I Wake Up Screaming
House of Strangers
Street With No Name
Whirlpool
Daisy Kenyon
Black Widow

Some of these will probably be announced for Blu-ray upgrades soon, with my luck, but I'm inclined to think that Fox is not in a huge hurry to get these out on Blu-ray.

I received Otto Preminger's Where the Sidewalk Ends in the mail a couple weeks ago, and it's sitting in my stack of film noirs waiting to be watched.
Nice haul! Daisy Kenyon is something pretty special, and Whirlpool is fun if sort of ridiculous.

Also, +1 to Claire Denis' White Material. Great film, but 35 Shots of Rum is a masterpiece.

Man...I got excited for a second.
I really thought they'd announce "The Life Aquatic".

No blue in the image means it's not a DVD-to-BD upgrade, so it couldn't be Life Aquatic. I did just finish my BD-sized custom DVD cover for Life Aquatic, though.

And if that means a US announcement soon well, what the hell, I'm a team player.

Speaking of breaking down and importing, does anybody have this?

There are three positive user reviews and it's a Sony release so it's probably pretty well done but I can't quite bring myself to add it to an order.

Do you all think the following titles are good blind buys?

Lonesome
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Revanche
Stray Dog

I have seen several well-known silent films and liked most of them, but I don't own any silent films released by Criterion yet. I have read a few rave reviews for Lonesome, and it appears to have an impressive amount of special features.

I only own one Criterion comedy, To Be or Not To Be, so I would like to expand my comedy collection. IAMMMMW seems to be a highly regarded comedy with substantial special features. Although, I'm concerned about the packaging a little bit.

Revanche has been praised quite a bit on this forum so I am curious about it. My only reservation is that it is unrated or maybe rated R. Is there a significant amount of violence, sexuality, or profane language? I guess the content can't be more graphic than Se7en, and I own that one.

The only Kurosawa films I own right now are Seven Samurai, Yojimbo/Sanjuro, and Ran. I would like to get a couple of Kurosawa's crime/modern films. Stray Dog seems to be a popular title on this board. Should I wait for the blu-ray though? It looks like Criterion is planning to release most of Kurosawa's films on blu this year.

Thanks in advance for the help!

There is an english friendly blu ray of BAD EDUCATION.

I'm not quite sure which country it is from (I bundled it in with a few other purchases when I did an order from Amazon Germany).

This is the one. http://www.amazon.es/Education-mala-...odovar+blu+ray

Edit. Also I might be a minority here but I don't think TALK TO HER is one of his best or a good start if you are new to his movies. I would go mid career with THE FLOWER OF MY SECRET, HIGH HEELS, WOMEN ON THE VERGE, LAW OF DESIRE. These movies don't have the harder edge some of his later ones do and they have charming lead performances from two of Almodovar's great strengths: Marisa Paredes and Carmen Maura.

I wish Life Aquatic would come out too so the complainers of the complainers for the release to come out can stop their complaining...

Ouch! That Mr. Fox and FC packaging has one hell of a busted to corners. And I am getting these from Amazon. Sigh.

I know this isn't LQ, but would they put in blue if it were a dual format release?

Yeah, I'm worried about my Amazon FC pre-order as well. If they continue to use such cheap and shoddy packaging, I'm real tempted to stop buying any new release.
