Do you all think that the David Lean Directs Noel Coward set is very rewatchable/replayable? Brief Encounter is the only film I have seen in the set and I thought it was quite good. I'm thinking about picking the set up during a 50% off sale later this year. Is this set worth $49.98? Thanks in advance for your help!

1. Yi Yi
2. Three Colors
3. The Thin Red Line
4. Five Easy Pieces
5. Vivre Sa Vie

Something like that. I rewatch a lot of my Criterions. Yi Yi definitely takes the top spot, though.

I could probably fill a re-watchable list with just Kurosawa movies, but I will try and vary it up a little:

Yojimbo/Sanjuro
Gojira/Godzilla
The Great Dictator
The Killing
Videodrome

Walkabout
Chungking Express
Revanche
Three Colors Trilogy
Samurai Trilogy

I must add that I love the modern Samurai Trilogy better than any of the above movies (which I have on HD DVD) and have watched those most often.

Yeah, as much as I love "Antichrist" -- I just bought it, but have seen it a few times -- I can't count it as something I want to re-watch often. It's not quite at "Irreversible" levels, where I don't ever want to see it again, even though it's an excellent film. But still ...

And "In the Mood For Love" is definitely up there. It should probably be on my list. IMO, one of the best films ever made, flat out.

You may include films in your collection if you wish but list 5 that you can watch the most over and over again.

I will start with my top 5 most re-watchable Criterions:

1. Naked (1993)
2. The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
3. The Ice Storm (1997)
4. Slacker (1991)
5. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

Notice something? These are all films that have come out in the last 25 years. Yes, I'm a sucker for newer films when it comes to re-watchability.
Nice! I actually just got back from a vacation.

12 Angry Men
Au Revoir Les Enfants
Blow Out
Purple Noon
Three Colors White

I can definitely understand the concept of newer films being more rewatchable.

this is great seeing all the responses to their top 5 lists of most rewatchable criterion films... as soon as everyone is done posting their top 5, i'm going to aggregate the films and post the top 5 (or more) most listed films from everyone's lists.

I have yet to rewatch any of them but I would say they're fairly rewatchable. Brief Encounter is the best of the bunch and it's a very good bunch. I half expected the war dramas to be overly schmaltzy and sentimental but they were surprisingly restrained. Blithe Spirit was a bit of a surprise too. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting but it had kind of a dark edge to it (beyond the subject matter) that kind of worked.

The supplements are really good too. Turns out this Noel Coward guy was actually pretty interesting. Whodathunkit.

You are welcome, Owl.

Put this film on your radar -- and ignore old reviews of it -- which was recently restored by Bavaria Media: Fedora.

U.S. release coming up later this year from Olive.

There are far too many that I consider highly rewatchable. I'd say that the five titles that I've watched the most would be (in no particular order):

The Third Man
M
Seven Samurai
The Killing
Insignificance
