If you like dark humor and creative surreality, get Brazil. Or if you like Monty python style humor.
Oh, nevermind you already have it.

I saved all spring for these babies and now that they're finally here I'm super pumped to watch them. Thankfully it's my day off from work today so you know what I'm doing all day!

I still have the Jacques Demy set on the way but I was too excited so I had to share this with all of you already. So here's the haul:

Wow, really impressive, especially for a new comer. You are absolutely in the mood for Criterion!

Late Spring, Leopard, Fanny and Alexander. Or why not the lovely Demy set?

I hold The Music Room and Charulata head and shoulders above The Big City. The Big City has some phenomenal scenes. But, overall it did not feel like it was of the same caliber as the other two.

Haven't watched The Coward yet (an extra on The Big City).

The Big City is my favorite, in fact it's one of my favorite films of all time.

The film wonderfully examines old and new customs and the reluctance to move on with the times.

Oh thank you.

I've been collecting since last September when I got The Thin Red Line blu-ray from a deal of the day on Amazon. Been loving the collection ever since.

Ps. I'm so envious of your collection!

Actually we do know that they have Watership Down as they have it up for pre-order on iTunes. Plague Dogs is purely speculation at this point.

Wow, when did Criterion get the rights to Watership Down? I thought that was owned by WB but I guess not.

I tried watching it one time but couldn't make it through. Maybe I'll give it another chance one day.

I'm currently looking over on Amazon Spain at all of the Pedro Almodovar on blu readily available and, unsurprisingly, without English subtitles on all but (maybe) one.

I seriously need to get on with more than my basic Spanish knowledge...or Criterion (or insert any company worth a darn in regards to PQ) needs to release a huge Almodovar boxset instead of just releasing one title...

WB lost the rights to Watership Down a couple of years ago. At the last Wexner Center talk (last November, I think), Peter Becker said that Criteiron was close to closing a deal for another animated film, and he was probably talking about Watership Down.

Have you tried ordering from bn.com? They ship internationally, though I don't know if they ship to Dubai. They currently have a 50% sale on Criterions till the end of the month.

Homicide is on Criterion just not blu. It's actually a decent print for DVD.

Yeah, Tin Drum pointed it out to me in the previous post. There is also a thread in the Trading forum for people selling/buying Criterions. Perhaps someone there can help you out. Good luck
