Hopefully you didn't stay up all night waiting! The New Years cartoon is posted on CC's website about 10 am east coast, or has been in past.

I would also love to see Hard Eight. It's been forever since I've seen that, btw.

The Testament of Dr. Mabuse is still in print and is available on criterion.com, etc. I owned the DVD once and I'm hoping for a region A blu release in 2015. I may be grasping for straws, but it seems like no more than 2-3 years after a region B blu release of a film occurs the region A pops up. TTODM was released in the UK back in 2012. I have a good feeling about 2015.

- a Kathryn Bigelow film: either Near Dark or Strange Days would be preferable. The former is out of print and the latter has never been released in BD. Zero Dark Thirty would be great too, as the special features of the BD last year were lacking. This is a great director who really needs some attention from Criterion, especially when others of lesser skill and vision have their entire oeuvres in the collection.
I would love for Strange Days to become a part of the collection. It is the only Bigelow film that I have seen. I keep planning to watch Zero Dark Thirty, so hopefully I will get to soon.

I sent an email to suggestions@criterion.com requesting Strange Days and Quiz Show. So, hopefully those films are on their radar. I hope there will be a Ralph Fiennes film in the collection soon. I guess The Grand Budapest Hotel will be in the collection in a few years. Any opinions here on The Grand Budapest Hotel? I will probably watch it later this week on HBO since they started showing it earlier this week.

Also, any opinions on the Hanzo the Razor film trilogy? The trilogy is currently on Hulu under the Criterion Collection studio section. I plan to check this series out soon because I enjoyed Shintaro Katsu in the Zatoichi series.

If Criterion puts a film on Hulu, does that indicate it will be released by them on blu soon (within 1-2 years)? The only other film without a physical release by Criterion that I have seen on Hulu is Breaker Morant. I wonder how many other films like Hanzo and Breaker are out there on Hulu right now waiting to be released on blu soon.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year ! I said the remake of Testament of Dr Mabuse from the 60s. The DVD of that and 1000 Eyes are both OOP

Inside Llewyn Davis
The Fisher King
The New World (the ship?)

And obviously, the two suns is a reference to Star Wars

Top left looks to be Moonrise Kingdom.

Does the girl with her back turned look similar to the pose of Nausicaa in Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind?

And holy shit, Inside Llewyn Davis!

The pose is similar, but she is wearing high heels, which doesn't seem to fit. Plus, I can't imagine Disney letting it go.

Looks like I'm selling my copies of Inside Llewyn Davis, Moonrise Kingdom, and The New World. Really surprised by the Coen release. Was not expecting that at all.

The man at the end of the bridge, looking at a map. I think the drawing on the other side is a house. Please God be Where Is The Friends Home

The clock is set to "1:23" could it be One, Two, Three by Billy Wilder?

I would be all over The New World if that came to be.

Even if I just bought it a couple of weeks ago.

But the more Malick, the better as far as I'm concerned.

That would make sense considering the Koker Trilogy was confirmed at this past year's Wexner Conference.

Probably wishful thinking, but could the two suns be in reference to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset?

That's what someone on another forum said and I think it makes sense considering the cloud separating them in the middle.

Two suns and moon is probably Two Days, One Night. It's the Dardennes and IFC. Seems likely.

Is the blood splattered spot on the ground, next to the girl who looks eerily similar to Nausicaa, a reference to The Grand Budapest Hotel? (The cat thrown out the window and boom)

I have also seen people speculating for A Brighter Summer's Day in reference to the suns.
