I agree a nausicaa release seems to be a long shot. Still, i have a tiny hope in my heart that criterion has plans to do a miyazaki box-set like is being released in the uk and japan. that would be so amazing i'd pee my pants and then put on a new pair so i could pee those.

some have suggested it may be barbarella instead. On that same wavelength, what about cherry 2000? It doesn't look like the character but do we need another barbarella blu-ray?

As far as the rest i'll defer to the rest of the forum. inside lleweyn davis wouldn't disappoint me, though it seems an odd selection. after hours is one of those scorsese titles that interests me but that i haven't got around to yet.

werckmeister harmonies is one that i've been interested in for awhile. The screenshot you use is from a site called bloodygoodhorror. Am i insane, or is wh not a horror film?

By the way, i have seen the porn version: the twerk-meister harmonies. Good stuff.

I watched Fanny and Alexander (the theatrical cut) tonight. Wow, what a film! I changed my opinions on it as I watched, but by the end, I simply realized that this is a fantastic film. Possibly Bergman's magnum opus.

I was thinking on buying it tomorrow, but i can wait if CC will release it with more extras.

Good question. I'm putting my money on a Criterion version being released within the next couple of years, so I'll hold off on buying it. I'm on the lookout for a digital copy though.

Another company supposedly managed to snap up the rights to it. I have a strong feeling that its gonna be going to Kino Studio Classics.
Both Kino and Twilight Time said they weren't offered "One, Two, Three" - maybe MGM/UA will release it themselves?

you sir are correct (the mini-series version is even better IMO).

and can you believe a stage version of the film was also achieved (and succeeded in it's own right) to surprising effect

An exuberant ‘Fanny and Alexander’ at the Kennedy Center (Washington DC) (2013)

I just picked up Salo during the sale. Not really sure why, I just feel like it's something I have to see. I can generally stomach this type of movie no problem. I'm interested in this one because I really do believe, from everything that I've read about it, that it isn't just some shock gorefest without any vision or meaning behind it like Human Centipede II or A Serbian Film. I imagine this one to be more in line with Come and See, in that there's something very important being stated within the filth. Reckon we'll see when it gets here.

I don't think it's Two for the Road. If it was they would've drawn an MG:

I just saw a trailer of Satyricon!
Wow! It looks spectacular visually!
I haven't seen a single Fellini film, but I don't know..
As far as this film is concerned, I feel uncomfortable watching weird films..

The MG was just one of the cars featured in Two for the Road.

That really looks more like the image in the New Year's drawing to me.

but the MG is the car that is most remembered. If Criterion is going to hint at the film they'd most likely draw the MG, imo.

I don't know, the positions and attitudes of the characters in the image look a lot like those of the figures in the drawing.

My 2 cents only, as usual :

I'm extremely surprised by this considering that they both faced the wonderful Les Blank set and that both the Tati and the Demy set have tremendous issues which, I strongly believe, place them far from being "among the finest releases to date in Criterion's BD era".

I'd wish the Tati set would have provided me an alternative to the BFI releases I own, but alternative cuts have vastly inferior presentations.
As for the Demy set, it is stuck for Lola with a profondly flawed restoration.

I'm also surprised by some titles considered not "Criterion worthy" such as F For Fake, the Tati set or Polanski's MacBeth. I do believe they perfectly fit Criterion line-up, and for some of them have fitted it for quite some time now !

This being said, I think the results reflects quite well the 2014 Criterion line up (Of course, there are still nit-picks where you could say "I would have this one first and the other one second instead").

Masters of Cinema are releasing Two for the Road in the UK this month, and Criterion have already released Charade by Donen, so in all likelihood it will be Two for the Road.
