If you can watch Seven, I've no idea what's keeping you from smoething like Don't Look Now.

I agree with you guys anticipating the sale, I'm just going to log off and check in when I get off work. I really think it'd be much easier on both them and us if they'd announce it in advance. The 'surprise' element holds no weight for me, both logically and emotionally.

I am debating so hard about picking this one up, I read the novel and own the DVD, but I don't know if I want to make the jump to blu with it though...uggh. Maybe I'll just get Don't Look Now and be good with the flash sale. I need more life affirming films.

Sounds good... I was just reading the description and saw the word Horror and took a pause. Just can't do true horror films.

Yeah, uh.. i haven't noticed anything weird going on with the criterion site since the morning. I doubt the sale is today.

I just assumed the sale would be next week since there are no new releases scheduled. I'm still checking every few hours though.

Couldn't resisit... I keep refreshing the page too. I'm just as anxious, and I'm only getting 2 older releases, and a mug.

I agree. I can see Safe as having more replay value than the Roeg film. I felt cheated after seeing Don't Look Now for the first time last Autumn in the theater, because the ending was so predictable and contrived. Up until that final 10-15 seconds it was good though. No need for spoilers because I didn't give anything away here.

I don't think of Don't Look Now as a horror film really. I view it w=as more of a psychological thriller with horror elements. It doesn't keep me up at night though. It's an amazing film nonetheless, and I can't wait to buy the Criterion. I haven't seen Safe.

By the way, do you people on here do any swapping. I have some OOP Criterions, and I don't know whether I want to part with them. I'm on the fence.

Do any of you guys ever order from Amazon 3rd party sellers, and have you ever had trouble with shipping from them?

I placed a couple of orders two weeks ago today (one from Amazon and one from a 3rd party seller on Amazon with a reputable rating). I received the Amazon order last Friday, but the laminate on the lens filter I bought was defective, so I returned it. Today, I received my replacement, but still no sign of the other package. The tracking has been stuck on pre-shipment since two days after I ordered it, and the seller insists it was sent. This is the second time I've had a delayed package from a 3rd-party vendor in the last few months. I just want to watch Tarkovsky's 'The Sacrifice', damnit!

About two-thirds of the stuff that I order from Amazon is from third-party dealers, and I've only had trouble a couple of times, and that was just minor stuff, like "Used - Like New" being more like "Used - Good" or something of the sort.

I mostly order brand new factory-sealed stuff from third-party Amazon dealers. MovieMars is great for anything and everything music/movie related, and Zoverstocks is good for ordering import music.

I should have ordered it from MovieMars; they have it for the same price that I bought it for Thanks for the info, Owl! I'll be sure to keep an eye on their prices when I order something next time.

MovieMars is solid, though they have definitely canceled a couple of my orders after a few days of not shipping because they realized they didn't have what they thought they had. That's annoying.
