I'm certain about the aspect ratio, but less certain about the film ever being released in 70MM.

I do think that The Leopard is one of those releases where none is 100% ideal. The editions that use the restoration have a better grain structure than the Criterion or BFI, but the restoration Blus have the wrong aspect ratio (it never would have been projected in 2.55) and I think there is some controversy about there color timing. Unless it is an absolute favorite, and I needed all the extras/different aspect ratios, I personally would just stick with whatever version I owned.

The Thin Blue Line is an amazing Documentary - I can't believe I have not seen this before!

I fell in love with A Brief History of Time and this is equally as brilliant.

No doubt I will be blind buynig Gates of Heaven/Vernon, Florida ASAP. Never seen but I doubt I will be disappointed, he is incredible at creating this documentaries.

He has to be one of my favourite documentary filmmakers, can anyone else recommend anything else he has done?

I really enjoyed his documentary about Fred Leuchter, the Holocaust denier and designer of execution equipment for capital punishment. I don't know if there's a DVD/blu-ray available of it, but I found a torrent of it. It's also on YouTube:

Seeing as how I have 3 Criterions already picked out, I am going to be super pissed if the Flash Sale doesn't happen this week.

Well it's certainly in my top 100, but not necessarily among my top 3-5 favorities.

Any idea how long this Wes Anderson sale will last? I shouldn't spend more money until Friday but I really want to get them before they go back up. That's a $20+ savings if you get them all.

No, only in-stock titles. Some of the popular titles go out of stock quickly and so you have to try to get your order in as soon as the sale begins.

Though there is a chance that the following week's titles will be in stock (especially if the sale is on Thursday), meaning they'd be on sale as well. So you might get lucky and get The Soft Skin. However, iirc, the most recent sale deliberately placed in-stock unreleased items on backorder immediately so as to prevent this from happening, but they might have changed their minds/forgot for this time.

I really enjoyed it. It's one of the few films I've seen where I immediately re-watched it a few days after my first viewing. In a way, all the half truths, exaggerations, and fantasy almost make it feel more real than a straight documentary would have been. There's a weird authenticity to it.

Criterion still have it listed as March 10th, but amazon and the store I've ordered it from have pushed The Soft Skin back to the 17th.

If there's a sale my guess is 3/17.

Well, if the flash sale occurs, I'm ready - my shopping cart is loaded. The only thing that would change is if The Soft Skin is available to add to it.
