Yes, but I live in a top floor apartment now, so the plastic bin storage is more out of convenience than anything else.

The plastic bins are also going to be a godsend later this year if I end up moving to a new place, because my Blu-ray collection is already mobile-ready.

(The new Atlanta Braves stadium is being built within walking distance of my apartment, so my rent is probably going to shoot up a couple hundred dollars at year's end when they renovate the buildings. Since I transferred to new office farther north a few months ago, I want to move a little farther north anyway.)

Steering this boat back into Criterion waters...

I saw a Criterion Facebook post mentioning that Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) was in the studio today.

This puts quite a few curious thoughts into my head. I wonder if Edgar Wright is being interviewed as a supplementary feature for an upcoming Criterion release.

I'd like to think that Criterion has another "drive-in" movie up their sleeve that is conducive to Edgar Wright's input for a supplementary interview. The Howard Hawks film, The Thing from Another World, perhaps?

Wishful thinking...

I held off on watching the second film in the King of the Hill release. I started The Underneath, then during the credits it mentions the story is based on the novel Criss Cross. Since I have yet to see the original noir classic Criss Cross, I decided not to spoil or otherwise affect my future viewing of the original and stopped the Blu-ray.

I'll watch The Underneath one of these days after I have seen the Burt Lancaster version.

I own Criss Cross on DVD, and it's a tremendous film noir. In fact, it might be one of my top 10 noir movies. I've clamored for a Criterion release, but Criss Cross is a Universal film, so that's a tall order. Burt Lancaster and Dan Duryea (who always excelled at playing characters who are complete tools) are at their absolute best here, and Yvonne De Carlo sets the screen on fire.

I've been ambivalent about the Criterion release of King of the Hill so far, but this information about The Underneath intrigues me.

Have loved his stage adaptations (this and Carnage). I have only seen a few of his other films, are his other films in collection worth checking out? (only seen Rosemary's Baby, Repulsion and Tess).

I didn't like The Ghost Writer though, thought that was a pretty weak film from Polanski.
Cul De Sac is quite good and features a great performance from Francois Dorleac, older sister of Catherine Daneuve. Definitely worth checking out and a great b&w transfer.

Burt Lancaster is my favorite actor, so I really have no excuse for not seeing it yet. I need to prioritize and get on this, considering how much I love film noir and Criss Cross has both my genre and acting holy grails in its DNA.

Criterion has licensed several Universal titles. Maybe there is a chance. However, considering how good a job Universal did with Double Indemnity and Touch of Evil, I hope their noir well hasn't dried up and we can look forward to Criss Cross one of these days (soon I hope).

If something bored you and you couldn't get through it, a more sophisticated criticism is, "It didn't hold my attention."

Is that more sophisticated or is it just more words?

Same with Hoop Dreams, the River, Thin Blue Line and Sullivan's Travels. I dunno what's up with it but I def just preordered Hoop Dreams and Cries and Whispers I am sure that flash sale won't happen late enough to catch those so this is a great deal.

EDIT: La Silence de la Mer too.

More sophisticated. It invites, "Where did it lose you?" more than "It was boring" does.

Since Warner owns The Thing from Another World, that's doubtful. However, this was posted the other day in the Warner Archive Collection thread:

Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and ordered. I'm particularly enthused that The Thin Blue Line is at that price. I wish that Gates Of Heaven/Vernon, FL was that price too!

Thanks for the heads up, I have a bunch of Amazon Gift Cards so I can finally use them on worthwhile purchases haha. I am thinking about blind buying The River, because it such a well reviewed film and apparently looks amazing and should on blu-ray. does anyone have any opinions on The River. Thanks

The review of the french disc on this site was enough to sell me on the movie. Good screenshots on there, too.
