Mentioned above. Häxan isn't on Blu-ray.

Im in for Valerie and Her Week of Wonders. Weird month though, lots of re-releases.

Not got any of the stuff in the boxset so may look at that, got BBS story on DVD and going to upgrade, not sure whether to get the stand alone release now...

Haven't seen any of the other stuff though.

My point is to release the films in the box set and not re-release them separately. Waste of a release tbh.
Criterion probably figured (rightfully so) that FEP would be a big seller on its own cause many wouldn't buy the BBS set just for that (myself included). It doesn't take away from any of the new releases for June cause there's a lot still.

Criterion is really taking their time with The Apu trilogy. I'm in for My Dinner With Andre and The Fisher King.

I understand your viewpoint there. I'm sure everyone would rather have a brand new title released, but as someone who doesn't own Five Easy Pieces, it's an interesting but exciting move. I just hope this doesn't become a trend in the future. Hell, releasing Valerie and Her Week of Wonders forgives all in my eyes.

Didn't know they had one up there. I'm in Dover NH. When I have DVDs to sell, I tend to sell them to the one in Manchester.

Quite frankly, though, I think they charge a bit too much for used Criterions. You can get new copies for less during a B&N sale.

Odd that The artwork for The Fisher King reminded me of the colors used for the Dazed and Confused artwork.

Okay, well not really I guess.

My Dinner With Andre is so absorbing that I started watching it on a whim on YouTube a few years back and didn't stop until it was over. Really good movie and it's literally just two guys talking at a dinner table for 90 minutes.

I might be tempted to revisit that one.

I thought the most popular of the bunch (besides Easy Rider) was The Last Picture Show

I thought the same. Was looking for it in the extras. Bummer.

Criterion has collected individual releases and put them in a box set years later. This one just happens to come out the same time as the singles. Don't see the problem with having more options

It's a very, very good film. There's a lot of rich, philosophical dialogue that engrossed me, as well.

I can only see myself purchasing that one, though, as I did not care for Vanya and I do not see myself liking AMB.

BEST MONTH EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Fisher King (Long overdue) and Valerie & Her Week Wonders are musts and will try to pre-order if Amazon has a cheap deal. I will probably get Five Easy Pieces cause I have BBS set but on dvd and only really Head, Last Picture Show and that on Blu-Ray. I will probably get André Gregory & Wallace Shawn: 3 Films in the July sale and The Bridge. I can't always say every month I want everything announced but this time I can.

Not understanding the reasoning behind the standalone release of Five Easy Pieces... I guess those that didn't purchase the wonderful BBS set (one of my 10 favorite Criterion releases) can now purchase it separately. Although I would think that by now most people interested in the film would have already bought the BBS set, especially with all the regular 50% off B&N and Flash sales...

Being an admirer of Terry Gilliam's films, I'm definitely in on The Fisher King. I'll do some research on The Bridge and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders... both sound interesting, and may eventually find their way into my library.

Glad to see the Shawn/Gregory films will be released separately. Already have Vanya and the DVD of Andre which doesn't scream upgrade. A Master Builder, Valerie and Bridge all look interesting.

I haven't seen the other two so I'm going to do a bit of research and find out if I'd be interested in them at all.

Since you like Gilliam and if you like Tideland (his 2nd best film after Brazil in my opinion), you will like Valerie very much.

You can't say Five Easy Pieces took away a slot from another release either. There's six other films announced this month. I could see this being a new trend of them re-releasing some films from different box sets individually
