After reading Criterion's review of The Rose on Blu-Ray, I'm even more excited for it to arrive tomorrow. Given the amount of work Fox and Criterion have put into making it presentable, I dare say even Criterion's SD DVD version would blow away Fox's in-house DVD release from years ago. That transfer was dirty, especially during the opening reel, and often had a softness that wasn't just attributable to the filming techniques or the source material. Very happy to read the ball wasn't dropped again for presenting this film beautifully on home video.
