I'm hoping they announce inside Llewyn Davies tomorrow.

I wanna get the bluray, but I know they (I think anyway) have the rights, so it'll be one of those things where I'll regret not waiting.

The newsletter clue was pretty explicit so there's no doubt that it will be released.

Inside Llewyn Davis was agonizingly boring. The only good thing about that movie is the music.

So, yes, the widescreen version is matted. But as far as I'm concerned, the proper ratio is 1.33/1.37. It would be nice to have both versions, but I can live with just the non-widescreen.
Well, actually, that's somewhat backwards. You have to frame for widescreen and protect for the taller TV image, so that all relevant info and characters are in the narrower version. That's why I think the theatrical framing looks better, because it was technically composed for that. The 1.33 look fine, just a lot of empty headroom which always bugs me.

Whoa, I just realized...

Announcements (probably) this afternoon and the Hawks have a chance to raise Lord Stanley's Cup at home in the United Center tonight.

Since the stars are so obviously aligned today I'm going to throw a coin or three in the pond and ask for...

A Kiss Before Dying
The Fortune Cookie (if there wind up with Kino I'll be sort of almost nearly as happy as had they landed here)
Gilda (if that goes to TCM and winds up with Mill Creek a couple months later that would be okay too)
The Big Clock (if Seven Days in May is with Paramount maybe they wrangle that a put together a sweet George Macready box set.

Oh, and The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Can't forget the Ghost and Mr. Chicken.

And The Hunger and The Tenant and Knife in the Water and Drunken Angel and Stray Dogs. And The Bad Sleep Well.

:sigh: I'm gonna need more coins...

Today is announcement day already? Didn't they just do announcements...well...yeah...a month ago? Hmmm.

Time is flying in my world these days.

I'll throw a few more hopefuls out there...

In a Lonely Place
Gilda
The Big Sleep
Le Samouraï
Un Flic
Ghost World
Fiend Without a Face

Carnival of Souls
One of the other three Jules Dassin American film noir movies (Brute Force, The Naked City, Thieves' Highway), since Night and the City was announced last time.

I said the same thing. Everything seems to be happening so damn quickly.

Hoping for Mulholland Drive and The Brood. I'd also like to see The Last Wave, but it wasn't hinted at, so that's out.

Someone correct me if I am wrong here but, it seems like not only will Criterion not be involved in the initial US release of Clouds Of Sils Maria, but it's going to be a DVD only release?

Looks like my decision to import just got made.

The thing I hope for is that Barton Fink gets released if they are doing Inside Llewyn Davis
